Yeah, with the traditional overhand technique I don't see the use of a shorter bridge. If you have a butt extension, you can stroke like a regular shot and a shorter bridge wood work then.I have one of those. It fits in my accessories pouch on the side of my case. Mine came with three heads of various shapes typical of snooker rests. It is much nicer than most house bridges. I think mine was $20 or so with all three heads. By contrast, a single wooden bridge handle costs $20.
I think bridges need to be as long as a cue stick to reach shots on a nine foot table.
