    Efren Reyes coaching

Thanks for the post. I would like Efren to coach me too, but I won't wear a bikini.

    Mosconi Cup Status

Haven't heard too much about the Mosconi Cup lately. Any new information?

Buying New Set of Pool Balls

I have a set of Super Aramith Pro balls. Excellent balls that clean up very well with Aramith Ball Cleaner. Still look like brand new. I think that if I were buying a new set, I would buy the new Aramith Tournament Balls. I like the look of the set and they are supposedly harder. Good luck...

    Chalking tip

You Sir get a greenie and have a great sense of humor. I have to try this next time I'm playing a tough opponent.

Ferrule color - experiences with other colors than white

I was also distracted by the maple ferrule on the OB-2. I use a McDermott I-3 and really like it. A small white ferrule seems the best for me.

    Talisman WB Tips Advice

The long drive to a cue maker was the very reason I started putting tips on myself 5 years ago. I did it by hand for a few months and then saw a thread where a shaft spinner was described using an electric drill and a crutch tip. That really helped me putting tips on like a professional. You...

    shaft / tip questions

I played with a McDermott I-2 shaft with a Moori medium tip for about 6 months and really liked it. The I-series shafts have a carbon rod in them and I believe that gives you a very solid hit. Then I bought a used I-3 shaft which is my current playing cue. It has a Moori soft tip on it. I...

    Wrap Advice

I'd plan to do it all by hand and not buy a jig. I could be kidding myself but I'd like to give it a spin anyway.

    Wrap Advice

Thanks for the link Blue Hog Rider. Took a while to start but well worth waiting for. It contained a lot of good information. It sure would be easier with the jig, but it looks doable without it.

    Getting Started....

My son and I play whenever we get together. He's 47 now. When he was 8 and his brother was 6 I bought a cheap pool table for Christmas. Both boys loved playing on it. Two years later I ran across an old 1922 nine foot Brunswick which we refurbished. Pool is a great game and I enjoy playing...

Congrats To Kelly Fisher World 9 ball champ

Although I'm an Allison Fisher fan, Kelly has always impressed me with her game. She's a great shot maker and a fierce competitor. Congrats Kelly.

Kamui Black Soft vs. Moori Medium

I've been playing with a Schon CX-06 with a McDermott I-3 shaft. The shaft has an 11.75mm tip diameter and a Moori Soft tip. It may be mental but I feel I hit the cue ball exactly where I want to with geometric precision. When I play with a larger tip, i.e. a 13mm, it just doesn't feel right...

    Wrap Advice

Thanks for the info Tom. I assumed the linen wrap would be about the thickness of the leather wrap. I may be out of luck unless the wrap is close to the same thickness. If needed, I could sand the wrap area down a little but not much.

    Wrap Advice

I'm looking for some advice on how to apply a leather wrap. I'm not in the business and I'm not looking to be - I would just like to try my hand at it. I've been doing my own tips for years and built a shaft spinner (electric drill and cane tip) based on info read on this Forum. I was lucky...

Pre-Flag Master, Kamui or Blue Diamond, what's best?

As some people have mentioned, I can find no difference between the pre-flag and the flag Master's chalk. I do see a difference between the green Master's and the blue Master's. The blue Master's leaves marks on my Aramith cue ball where the green doesn't. I've been playing with Master's...

    Tiger Black Onyx Tip

I don't mean to hijack this thread (apologies to a503) but I saw your comments on Cue Components. I browsed E-bay about two weeks ago for layered tips. Cue Components was selling Karomi Med (12 layered tip with hardness rating of 65.4) for $2.00 with free shipping. Well I couldn't resist. I...

    Jim Lee owed work

A while back Jim did three separate wraps for me. His work was excellent. He sent me pictures of different wraps draped on my cue so I could decide which wrap I liked best. He was easy to work with and communicated very well. Then I heard he had some health problems. I don't know what...

What kind of rack do you use?

In my opinion too. Does a really great job racking the balls and I enjoy the sound. It's music to my ears.

How would you handle this at this point?

Good advice. Stop playing Mr. Nice Guy. You'll lose in the end. Time to take off the gloves and do a little bare knuckle/gouging fighting. And don't worry about his reputation - worry about your money!
