Your ferrule is fine. The shorter ferrule should reduce cue ball deflection a bit. I wouldn't invest any more money in the table. Play the way it is and just enjoy. Have another pint and throw a couple of shimp on the barbie too.

I think it's the best thing you can use to remove excess shellac. But, only use it once to remove the shellac and not on a daily basis.

I'd go with the green Scotch-Brite pad that Tommy D mentioned. Will do a great job for you.

Beautiful cue - cocobolo is my favorite wood. I shoot with a McDermott I-3 with a Moori soft tip. That 11.75mm tip diameter allows you to hit the cue ball with geometric precision. Good luck with your sale.
