    14'3" x 26' room, 9 ft table??

Devils Advocate...food for thought...call it what you want...but... You may want to consider the table size you'll mostly play "outside" of the home. If you're in leagues and play on 7' tables, then I would recommend taking that into consideration. Again just something to consider... That...

How important is lighting to you?

See, this kind of comment lets me know what my real playing "speed" is compared to you...light-years away! (Pun intended) I'm just glad when all my bulbs are lit...and yes, I mean either way with that comment! LOL Kidding aside, that's super smart and great commitment and attention to details...

How important is lighting to you?

That sounds like a blast! I remember a type of golf tournament where we'd play "cross country"...essentially teeing off the 1st tee to the 5th green, the 3rd tee to the 6th green, etc. It was the most fun tournament because it was out of the "norm" and wasn't taken seriously! :) I'm a couple...

    The truth about Mezz shafts

Not that I noticed with any real margin of significance... I also forgot to say I have two different types of tips on the two shafts...I know that won't effect deflection, but it will spin (at least for me it does). I'll mess around with both of them again tomorrow and see if I can see any...

    The truth about Mezz shafts

So my WX900 finally arrived today. I had a long lunch with my mom (yep still do!), so I didn't get much of a chance to play with it until this evening. It's definitely an adjustment from the WD700. It does feel less "stiff" to me than the WD700. I thought the conical taper might bother me since...

    Is this a legal stroke?

I can't comment as to the legality with any amount of authority (personally I'd say it fell under the conditions of a "scoop"...however, others have already said it didn't), but I will say thanks for posting a link to the video. That was fun to watch. I love that jump shot off the rail...that's...

    30 day Challenge

Well I'm glad you're back on the AZ wagon! ;) I think that 30 days (+3) straight is a great feat...I'm betting some of those days were tough ones! Awesome job!!! :)

Where is the cue ball going to go? Tried and true learning method?

Ok...so this has really been bugging me since yesterday. :o I think where I'm messing up is that I'm forgetting to calculate the decreasing deflection angle for the decreasing contact hit on the object ball. I Teiresias to find the actual graph in this video from Dr. Dave, but got tired of...

Where is the cue ball going to go? Tried and true learning method?

So, I went through this drill last night...and as expected, I could easily replicate the drill... Where my problem is coming in (and I thought this was the OP's issue as well) is that I can't seem to "see" or predict this during a game where the angles aren't setup like the drill. I think I'm a...

Anyone hear of or try Balabushka chalk

Yep...started to read the thread...confused as I knew it had been around for quite awhile...then looked at the date of the thread... :)

    Water on my table

Glad to hear it's a "happy" ending to what could have been a horror story! I can't imagine something like this happening to me! I freak out if a gnat lands on my table and I have to squish it there...I'm afraid it'll leave a tiny blood stain...or worse yet I'll have to draw a little chalk...

    Water on my table

+1 for the honest disclosure...and making me laugh out loud this morning!!! So not related to the thread either but... My mom wanted to clean the toilet bowl...decided to use boiling water to sanitize the bowl first before cleaning. My father had "advised" her not to do it...but "somehow" she...

Where is the cue ball going to go? Tried and true learning method?

Thanks for posting that one! I've seen the diagram, but was nice to see the visual. :)

Where is the cue ball going to go? Tried and true learning method?

I too struggle with what you're going through...knowing the 90/30 angles etc...and also feel I should've "gotten it" a long time ago. I'm seriously looking forward to seeing what you post. :)

SVB runs a 305 in straight pool

True. I think everyone's aware of that because it's brought up every time there's mention of breaking the record. Nap cloth...big pockets...I think that makes it a wash difficulty-wise. (Not trying to single you out and "start" something with you. :o ) If Tiger ever beats Jack's record of...

What do you do with chalk when it gets low?

I've gotten close...but haven't been able to make 'em last THAT long! LOL

What do you do with chalk when it gets low?

Just this morning I had to use the utility knife to trim down the paper on the edges of the cube of Magic Chalk. I'm a "swiper" not a "grinder", so I don't leave a big hole in the middle of the cube. :)
