What to ask cuemaker if I want a real shiny, glossy, lustrous finish?

This was a friend's definition of luster, that of a depth to the shininess that he claimed was due to multiple layers of paint (finish?).

Pro aiming: Eyeball object-ball path & then cue-ball path with eyes near pool-table height

Despite no obvious improvement in the short time I have used the Moritz method, I like it because it seems I should be able to capitalize on it. What is not to like? How can assuring oneself that the object ball line to pocket and the cue ball line to object ball are true? Moritz seems to get...

Pro aiming: Eyeball object-ball path & then cue-ball path with eyes near pool-table height

Pro Moritz Neuhausen aims eyeballing the path from object ball to pocket with eyes not far above pool-table height and stands a couple steps behind pool table. His eyes go right and left of that object-ball path and back to pocket center. He then repeats this aiming but for the aiming line of...

What to ask cuemaker if I want a real shiny, glossy, lustrous finish?

Some photos from production cues do not show much of a glossy, lustrous finish. I am thinking of Schmelke, Jacoby, and others. Photos from some custom cuemakers, though, do. If I wanted to be sure that the cue came back looking with the shine of the cue from the shiniest custom cuemaker...

The CARBON FIBER Shaft With the LEAST Cue Ball DEFLECTION

Maybe instead test the Jacoby Black V5 that will debut at the Super Billiards Expo in April I love it. I want more tests! Perhaps, collect donations specifically for deflection testing? Or, even farm out the deflection testing to some group?

what pros play with maple regular deflection shafts ?

I believe McDermott has one type of only wood pool shaft. It's CF and combination of wood and CF shafts are the i-series, G-core, and Defy. Anything over $350 comes standard with a non-wood shaft.

    snapshot carbon fiber shaft

Inflation? Snapshot cues never heard about it. CF shaft was $350 (five years ago?) and is now $200

    SBE 2026

At SBE, Jacoby should introduce its newest version of its carbon fiber shaft, BlaCk V5. Here is info on the V4 it replaces:

⚡Warning! More miscues w. some training balls ⚡

Miscues are most often caused by a bad stroke. Even with the best stroke, however, miscues occur where player hits too far from cue-ball center. It is generally accepted that the maximum distance from cue-ball center before miscuing is one-half of cue-ball radius (0.5R, 9/16", 14.3mm). Some...

Most popular Carbon fiber shaft size?

What about their 11.0mm? The V4 description on Jacoby's website does not include 11.0mm but the order form does. The description has 11.8, 12.3 and 12.7mm shafts available. When is V5 coming out?

Controversial European Open Push Shot Call – The Myths Busted

Karl Boyes may not be the sharpest saw in the woodshed. He should have been schooled in the rule Dr Dave showed. As it was, he deferred to Pongers and Pongers, hopefully got him up to speed. Sure, he should have done his homework before-hand and had read up on the rule regarding a...

Controversial European Open Push Shot Call – The Myths Busted

Karl Boyes apologized for calling him bonkers, did not state that he himself was right, and let Pongers explain. The apology was okay. Karl was still confused on the rule and that is where he still is slipping up on. Pongers did okay in trying to get Karl up to speed. Pongers admitted that...

Tips that don’t require sanding to install

I am an amateur at installing tips and was unaware that you didn't have to sand. I wouldn't mind trying to install tips without sanding. I presume you only wipe the tip with alcohol, dry, and superglue. Correct? How did poster LDMitchell find this out? Did the manufacturer state this...

Controversial European Open Push Shot Call – The Myths Busted

I like your suggestion that Boyes and McMullan should apologize. I realize color commentary has to be spontaneous and occasionally off-the-wall but it also means they should apologize when they call someone a doofus when, actually, they are the dooffuses. I like the longer video because I...

    🟩🟠 Some training-balls miscue limits don't work

The miscue limit is the furthest distance from cue-ball center that player can hit without miscuing. The distance is generally accepted to be one-half a billiard-ball radius or 9/16" (14.3mm) or 0.5R. Some billiard-ball stripes are that width. For beginners, a more practical miscue limit may be...

Is it Possible to CUT AN OBJECT BALL MORE THAN 90°?

I have failed at pocketing rail cut/kick shots at >= 90 degrees but I noticed you added some draw to the inside english. I will try that out. The video's start with nearly 90 degree cut shots showed that these are best done and not impossible with easy aiming such as cue ball really close...
