It depends on the wood species. Redwood moves very little, spalted maple moves a lot. First I turn the wood round to about 1.4" and then bore a .758" hole. Stabilize and cure and then run the gun drill back thru the core hole and turn the OD down to 1.3" to remove any flashing and true up...
