    Torrefied Wood for Cues?

Torrefied Wood I have used toasted maple on a couple of cues. It has excellent tone, plenty of strength and is rock stable. Have to explain it's color to people, most think it is some type of rosewood. When guitar makers start using it for necks and fret boards, I tend to pay attention...

    BobCad

Bobcad Man no offense, but that's some ugly tool paths. Have you checked your default part and cutting conditions. Also what machining strategy are you using/tool sizes and offsets. Are you using system offsets or tool offsets. I've never seen Bobcad do something different from simulation to...

Cuestock Last I heard, the professional photographer had come down with a nasty bug. Hopefully he will be up and running shortly and we can get some more photo's. I have heard calendar or poster or both. Definitely not just for attendees. This was an effort to promote cues and the pool...

Hot Rod If you closed your eyes and someone put the Hot Rod in your hand, you would never think the wrap was what it is. Surprisingly smooth.

    Cuestock photos and reports???

Cuestock Just got home. What a great time. Richards estate is amazing. Pretty hard not to relax when you're sitting by the lake with a bon, or should I say cue fire going. I'm sure there will be much better pictures, but here is some cell phone snaps.

Need pointers on operation of cnc setup

cnc I'll bet on .001 my 7000lb Haas moves .0001 just thru thermal expansion. The 4 saw system that I saw had Thompson round rails and bearings, and Kerk lead screws. No way .0001, your friend did an amazing job getting .001.

Need pointers on operation of cnc setup

cnc setup Royce and Jim are the horses in this race. I'd follow their advice closely. Screws are probably Kerks they were Leonard's favorite. You should be able to pick up a copy of Bobcad V24 fairly inexpensively. Also the matching video professor series. I recommend at least going thru...

Cue with a slight lift at the collar

Cue with lift What kind of wrap does it have. I've seen heavy textured leather affect the roll. If you really like the cue, stipulate that it be taken to a cue maker/ repair guy and have them turn it between centers. Then you'll know for sure.

    Finish spots

I tend to think that Chris is correct. Try sanding this down really slow and see what happens when you hit the spots. If it's trapped air you will be able to see the pits that the bubbles leave. I've trapped air before, but the bubbles were smaller.

    Question

question They would be buying the radial tap from Uni-loc so maybe they raised the pricing. If you have ever shipped a lot of items, you might understand the 5.00 charge. Boxes and tape and padding have gone up. Besides you have to pay the person pulling the order, putting it in the box and...

Servo Techno Isel to Mach 3?

Servo Steve, I have the LC controller on mine. Does yours have a pci or isa board in the non functioning computer. If so you should be able to pick up a cheap replacement computer on fleabay. The techno software isn't as multi functional a mach3, but it works fine.
