    Pre flag Masters Chalk

My only point is that "old chalk" has the opportunity to change over time. It might or might not change much, and even if it does, it might not be a bad thing, but if you have fresh chalk you can be sure that it is performing as it was intended. Some folks like the old stuff. Cool.

Restoring a table. 1908 Brunswick St. Bernard (6 leg)

Assuming all the parts are present and intact, you should expect around 10-15k for a full restoration. ( more ornate tables can run much much higher) However, even on a good day, that table fully restored probably would not demand more than what you spend to restore it.

    Who is the cue expert?

I don't think Joel or Ivan post but Will Prout does, and he's well educated when it comes to several great cue makers. Joe Gregory ( I cant remember your azb name ! sorry !) is a Spain expert. Myself, I focus on construction methods, and makers prior to 1930.

    Stroke: Follow Through

English! couldn't bring himself to post this himself? lol We've talked about it before. Adjustments made "during the duration of contact" are all but impossible. And even if they weren't, why even risk trying? We can argue all day about "how long" the contact might actually last, but at the...

    Old cue from a championship?

Do you know if any info has been found relevant to the championship it was awarded for? ( who else played etc. Occasionally the cue maker/company is mentioned in the press coverage)

High end custom cue makers making cues with ivory

I absolutely agree, which is why the actual poaching has to be stopped. But the poaching doesn't happen here. It happens over there. I don't even have a problem with our government enacting ivory control laws, I think it's a good idea, but let's be realistic, "curbing" the demand in the...

Are you concerned about elephants simply because of their low numbers, or is it the use of animals that bothers you? I just wonder if you, and everyone else, would feel the same if the elephants were plenty in number. Because we Americans raise, farm, harvest, and slaughter millions of...

    Ernie gets probation

Let me re-emphasize this point: McDonald's and Burger King sell millions of pounds of meat every day, that we eat every day, that comes from animals that some cultures find " unholy " (pigs) or from an animal that some cultures treat as a diety. (cows) We kill and eat their gods, and don't...

    Ernie gets probation

Unfortunately it's not a simple moral issue for many people all over the world. Hence the problem. And you (or us, or they, or them) have no right to make everyone believe the same. Hence the problem. My only point here is that chasing bones wont stop the killing and will not create more...

    Diamond system history

In 1850 Michael Phelan was the first American to author a book on billiards. There were a few previous books published in Europe, in which "aiming methods" and "banking methods" were illustrated and explained, with shot diagrams etc. You might be able to say that those were the first...

I didnt say that Ernie is blameless and I never suggested that his punishment is unreasonable. .... " the whole pool culture" is doing no such thing. Please explain the alleged 'criminal conspiracy' with supporting evidence for those of us who don't understand as much as you do.

    Ernie gets probation

I'm not offended. I find what you implied offensive. Which is clearly just your opinion, albeit an uninformed one. Problem is, when an uninformed opinion is recklessly directed at the reputation of another person, it illustrates not only a lack of basic reading comprehension, but also a...

Correction: He knew what someone else was going to do was wrong, and didn't call the authorities. If you are suggesting that Ernie is a lowlife, I find that highly offensive.
