Through spindle bore too small for a butt

Yea I have an old manual from clausing but I know the prices aren't accurate. I haven't seen a steady rest on ebay yet that fits my lathe or isn't more expensive than a new one. Still searching however. As a last resort if I don't find one in the relatively near future I'm gonna give clausing a...

Through spindle bore too small for a butt

I have an old clausing atlas metal lathe that's been passed around in my family over the years. As an aspiring cue maker I jumped at the chance since it cost me nothing other than the favors to help me move it. Anywho, I've completed my first shaft and would like to move onward to doing the...

    Summer time motivation for once.

I have a projector set up in my pool room hooked up to a DVD player. I'm usually standing at the table while watching the series. Makes things much easier to visualize and duplicate set ups when it comes down to it. Appreciate the input though glad to know I'm at least working the right direction.

    Summer time motivation for once.

I'm not sure I follow on "the inner game of tennis" I'll do some digging later this evening on that. As far as my fundamentals lately (the last week maybe 10 days) I've been consciously focusing on staying down on my shots while running some simple drills. Stop shots draw shots follow etc...

    Summer time motivation for once.

I've found myself motivated for the first time in a long time to better my game during the summer months. Ive always been one to play less when it's warm and spend more time out doors. This year is different. I just invested a large sum of money in my man cave and have completely refurnished my...

This looks like something you could make out of a small piece of wood and some dowel pins with a little effort and a drill.

27 practicing secrets DVD by the Drill Instructor

No I didn't. I actually discovered that Shawn Putnam lives about 20 minutes from me and I've instead put money towards a few private lessons from him at the local pool hall. I figure face to face has to beat words on paper any time.

Finally ready to make an attempt at turning my first cue

I've spent the last year or so while getting everything in order reading books and all the forum posts here and I have finally got the set up that I want in my garage and the equipment I feel that I need to make a simple cue. So, my question to the professionals and hobbyists alike, knowing...

Tips on maintaining focus during practice

I've read a few books and watched just about everything I could find for videos, both DVD and youtube. When practicing I am intensely focused for the first 20 minutes or so but after that I get lax and my game goes down the tubes. So other than practicing in short spurts I feel I'm not getting...

Best advice for fixing stroke and line of aim

I don't know if it's the same technique he would be referring to, but I was always taught on a long shot to relax your pinky, and ring finger in your grip hand because it relieves upward pressure on the cue. which on a long shot can cause the cue to react in a manner different than intended.

I know the stop shot drill is not a stroke drill. You missed what I was asking in the original post.
