Why are men better than women at billiards?

in pool, the differences are not physical, they are psychological (in other sports the differences are usually physical). Men are conditioned to be more competitive. They learn at an early age that their entire worth only depends on whether they can win or not. Women are generally not taught...

    Jeanette Lee

didn't know much about JL, but the more I learn, she sounds like a real class act. She definitely is a valuable asset to our sport (and humanity) and I'm hoping for a miracle that she can beat this. We need you to be around much longer, Jeanette!

    Equipment hypothetical

that's the main thing isn't it? Are today's players in general better than past players? I remember listening to some commentators saying players these days play on a new level.
  17. D

    Vincent Lauria

yeah, Filler. He definitely might have some flake.

    Vincent Lauria

I'd root for Fast Eddie myself. Today's equivalent player for Mr. Felson? Ralf Souquet?
  19. D

    Equipment hypothetical

sure, but a relatively good player could use new equipment to make some shots that others couldn't consistently

    Equipment hypothetical

If a 600 fargo rate player today went back in time with an ultra low deflection shaft, say to the 1960s, would he be a top level player? Would that LD shaft give him enough of an advantage to overcome top players of the past?
