I was wondering if someone could explain exactly what it means for a cue to have a compound taper, how to know if a cue has a compound taper, and how a compound taper affects how a cue rolls on a flat surface.

I believe it’s some type of rosewood.
The black is synthetic. The rings are also some type of plastic, perhaps made of vintage materials.
I would say the cue is from the early 2000’s.
I bought it a few years ago.
