Why does it seem that I play better w a House Cue than my 2 own personal cue?

I've always thought not much hits better than a good house cue. Probably why I'm so attracted to hustler cues.

how are ya'll doing in league ?

Last night in my VNEA league I had the worst night ever. First game I break and put 2 stripes in and scratch. My opponent takes stripes. I get up to the table and miscue. Game over I lose. Game number 2 I'm on the the eight with a nice little break up of a cluster on my way to it and I get a...

    Booze and Balls

When I first joined a BCA league partying was par for the course. While my level of play definitely improved substantially over the sessions, I know no intoxicants improves my play. This became apparent in my last session in the BCA league when I played with no outside influences. I'm now...

    My pilgrimage to Fargo Billiards

Thanks for sharing this story. At age 50 I've been reintroduced to pool after a near 10 year layoff after a late introduction to serious play as it was. This post just reinforces how much I like this game. Once again thanks for sharing. Sent from my iPhone using AzBilliards Forums

Another thumbs up for Lance Cowles

I got to spend some time getting some instruction from Lance today and I'm happy to report a positive experience. The day started out with a quick rack of eight ball to get me warmed up. Lance pointed out a safety I didn't see or would have thought about. Adding a new dimension to my eight ball...

How long is too long to wait...?

This is plain ridiculous. Get the cue and the upfront payment. Find someone who is willing to repair it in a timely fashion. Of course this is coming from someone who waited 11 years for a Southwest. I also just sent a cue maker a $500 deposit for a place on the schedule in '18.

Anyone Came Back Strong after 10 yrs

I turned 50 a few months ago and joined a league in fall after a 9 year layoff. Not only do I think I can reach my prior level play I think I can exceed it. I'm going to see an instructor tomorrow and will be joining a straight pool league in addition to my VNEA league. Next up is the eye...

Billy Thorpe conceded with 7 balls left.

I don't understand any of the conceding not to mention with 7 balls on the table. Anything could happen.

How ugly do you think this cue is?

This seems like a reoccurring theme. Why can't you just buy a cue and stick with it? I see the one you want is 299. If you can't afford that maybe you shouldn't be looking at custom cues. Also I think you'd be much better served getting a sneaky from a reputable maker.

No Wonder The U.S Sucks Against World

Well said. I always had thought real pool was shot on 9 footers. Since returning to the game I've been taken back by the widespread use of 7 footers. I'm currently in a Valley league and people are surprised I never really played on them.

    Frost's replacement tip OOPS

True words. Getting a new shaft takes time and cost money. I will never break a shaft again. I did probably 15 years ago. I would have liked to last week after losing a match I shouldn't have. I'm still angry 4 days later.

Help me with unwrapped/wrapped... What would you do?

I blamed my poor playing on it and traded it for 2 cues I never really liked. Not one of my finest moments. In reality I had an injury to my grip hand which really threw my game off when prior to that I was playing the best pool in my life and improving. I ended up having surgery and just kind...
