Players who break with their play cues

I'm not fully aware of what the pros do but I'll share my thoughts. First off I prefer to break with my playing cue. I had a fairly long layoff and formerly played and broke with a Southwest. I never had any problems and my break is on the strong side. I do think breaking with your playing cue...

    Cue Buying Frenzy

I've been wondering myself what's wrong with me. I too am just getting back into the game after a near decade absence and like cues. Problem is I only had one cue left when I started up again early this year. A Jim Buss sneaky with a shaft I should have never let anyone whittle down that I just...

    Sold My Harley-Davidson, So......

After nearly a decade absence from pool I was in need of a cue I liked. Being no stranger to custom cues as my last real player was a SouthWest, I started a quest for my next player. I decided that I was going to try a few different sneakys to get a handle on what I might like. Maybe this would...

    Cue Recommendations

I'm wondering if the OP is serious. It seems unrealistic to think you could buy a custom cue from a reputable one man show kind of cue maker with that budget. If you desire that kind of cue maker, a Merry Widow would be about the most you could expect and more likely a Sneaky Pete in my opinion...

Exactly what I was thinking. It'd be a great garage sale find.

Question about unknown 4 point (with veneers) cue that is up for auction on ebay.

I like traditional looking old school cues and this one has the look. I just wouldn't want to pay what it's been bid to. Be interesting to find out what it is though.

    Opinions on Jump/Break Cues wanted

Thanks for the input guys. I think I'll just have to buy one and see what I think. The Predator seems like a great option but I'd prefer to support a custom cue builder. I'm just going to go ahead and get a Gibert.

    Opinions on Jump/Break Cues wanted

Now that I'm becoming a student of the game once again I'm buying some tools. I'm seriously looking at Jump/Break cues. The thing is I've always broke with what I played with and have never owned a J/B. I have a fairly strong break and I'm starting to think a break cue might be a good idea. I...

    Pool School

I've not attended this school but did a 2 day with Jerry Briesath about 15 years ago. I would highly recommend taking some kind of professional instruction with a known reputable instructor. For me a single day of intense instruction would be great to start and have some repeat visits. Such as...

If you were spending 2,000 on a cue

I didn't quite spend 2k but chose Leon Sly. I've never seen one of his cues or played with one.

The trend of conceding a match

I played in the season ending tournament for the league I sub in. One of the matches my opponent did just this. I don't personally like it but it guaranteed the win. I could of missed and then he would have had a chance to get in the money.

Jump Shots, do you like them or not?

Only if done with a regular full size cue.

    Just a quick introduction

Hi guys. I originally posted here as 9eleven to sell off some cues because I was no longer playing and frankly didn't like them.Things have changed and after close to a 10 year break I'm starting to get back into the game. In matter of fact I'm wondering why I ever stopped! I truly enjoy the...

    Moori Tips

How does one get an authentic Moori tip? I just started playing again and haven't found a tip I really like yet.In the past(10 years ago) I liked Moori's. Kamui's aren't floating my boat and a tiger everlast is not bad. What else might someone recommend? I'd really just like authentic Moori...
