    Push shot foul?

THIS is a PUSH shot. From Corey vs Schmidt TAR interview. https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxSq9VaR9pOO3_cFgGuOzKx9wd7OmcxIWO?si=a5yfoUFF4wHYPAXr

    Push shot foul?

He shows an actual push with the two frozen balls, but I think he should have first shown a push with a single cue ball to teach people what an actual push means. I think a LOT of people are confusing push and double hit. Push is when you bring the tip to the cb, leave it there for a second...

Was pool better 50 years ago?

I didn't read the thread.... weren't all the top players 50 years ago going from town to town, robbing the shortstops, and shacking up with their girls for the night? hahaha.

    John Schmidt runs 820

Yes, he won one year. I think he beat Frost in the finals 3-0 or 3-1 if memory serves.

EUROPEAN OPEN 2026, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, March 10-15

Thorston and Childress will be on Mosconi Cup USA team is my prediction. Thorston had a much higher gear than Tyler in his prime, and now he seems to have caught the pull bug again playing for USA. Childress is going to chase all the events and get there on points.

    Push shot foul?

@Bob Jewett was right, of course:) I went to the pool hall tonight but I was too lazy to set up the camera:( I set up the balls both frozen, and a hair apart, maybe .5mm. I shot both versions head on with draw, center, and follow. Fast speed on all. The follow version I couldn't tell the...

    Push shot foul?

*When Frozen Only* The rationale is it's not actually a "push" or a "double hit". There is only one contact, and the contact is normal like hitting a regular shot. This has been proven with high speed camera footage.

    Push shot foul?

I think after reading a bunch of fb posts on this that there are 2 main arguments: The first is if they were frozen or not. NO ONE here or on FB knows that as fact YET! that is causing about 80% of the arguments imo. Because even me, and I damn well know the rule, thought they were not declared...

    Push shot foul?

I’m agreeing with all of what you wrote. With the caveat that when they are frozen, they separate slightly, but still go about the same speed. When not frozen, they will travel almost on top of each other. the difference is probably on dr Dave’s site somewhere.

    New Dynaspeheres Set

Wow, that's a good looking set! Is it slightly different than their prior ones? Maybe it's just the ad, but the balls look really good.

    New Dynaspeheres Set

Small caveat, the owner is Taiwanese, and his factory is in China. I've worked with both at my dayjob, and in my personal experience, the Taiwanese are very proud and very careful in their designs (more like the Japanese), while the Chinese are not. The Taiwanese actually design things, the...

    Push shot foul?

Yeah, that's a clear sign of a double hit, when they go the same speed. But when they ARE frozen, it can look similar, but I don't think exactly. There is more separation between the CB and OB. This clip was so fast because he shot it super hard, it's difficult to tell for sure. My opinion...

    John Schmidt runs 820

Wait, did Charlie Williams post that? Schmidt is NOT a 14.1 World Champion. CW is probably the only one who thinks he is. Maybe he had some gimmick like BIH every rack?

    Push shot foul?

Yeah, weird that he is pointing to 3.8 push shot and not 3.7 double hit. Push shot is a deliberate slow stroke where the tip stays on the ball. It can happen with just the CB and the tip and no other balls nearby. Double hit is what happens when the CB is very close to the OB. The terms are...

    Push shot foul?

I thought so too when I first watched it. But I can't be certain. He might have been pressing his stopwatch it looks like he had something in his hand.

    John Schmidt runs 820

I just saw this on FB. Is it real? No details yet. I almost don't believe it. Didn't even know he was still at it. I was even checking if it was April 1.

What to do with a broken Gus Szamboti?

Yeah, it does look like it's fixable and will end up at full length. I guess if Barry made the repair it might help with value?

    Push shot foul?

I guess the only other explanation is the Ref has not reffed American pool before, and in Blackball or Snooker you can't shoot into a declared frozen ball, and he was thinking of those.
