    Taom Chalk

That sucks. I'd definitely agree with CC and suggest a chalk pouch - or at least keep the Taom in your pocket during play.

    Taom Chalk

As in "disappeared", are you saying you think someone nicked it? Or did it just roll off the table frame? Taom's pretty pricey and not a lot of people use it in a public setting, from what I've seen.

Importing snooker cue from the UK (warping concerns?)

My dream cue is a one-piece Mike Wooldridge Black Legend specced for English pool. His cues are some of the best in the world.

Importing snooker cue from the UK (warping concerns?)

I prefer ash, since it's what I'm used to. Never owned any maple cue myself, but I really do like the look of them, especially if it's a very white maple.

Importing snooker cue from the UK (warping concerns?)

Fantastic. Hope you end up finding one you like! As long as the cue is well-made and protected in transit, I wouldn't worry too much about warpage.

Importing snooker cue from the UK (warping concerns?)

I see you've been chatting with someone at Green Baize. Was it Stu himself? Heard great things about the cues he stocks. And you can't go wrong with a Maximus or a Ton Praram.

Importing snooker cue from the UK (warping concerns?)

The best way to determine whether a snooker cue or an English pool cue is warped is to sight it like a rifle and look down the shaft as you rotate it. I tried rolling my snooker cue on an English pool table before, and it gave me a false positive that it was warped.

What is your Favorite Tip flavor at the moment

English pool player here. Tried out Elk Pros which I really liked, but I've moved onto ADR147s. Heard rave reviews about them on TSF.

What tips and chalk is everyone using?

I haven't had any miscues or issues with it yet and it seems cleaner than the Triangle and Master I'm used to. I think I'll stick with it. Seems to be lasting ages, anyway.

    Cue Chalking Crutch

You can clearly feel when your laces are tied. If you're not looking at the tip while chalking, how do you know you're getting an even coat? Or if the tip's glazed over or compacted chalk is embedded?

    Cue Chalking Crutch

Yeah, I see a lot of American pool players chalking like this without even looking at the tip to see if it's covered. I don't know, always looked strange to me.

    tips..........

Hardness rating? No idea. Never saw any ratings for any of the popular snooker or English pool tips apart from Elks and Kamuis.

    Taom Chalk

To be honest, you don't need one with Taom. I just keep mine in my pocket. I hate keeping chalk on the table, but for the blue chalks which can be rather messy, chalk pouches are fantastic.

    Taom Chalk

I keep my chalk in my back pocket. I know the blue American pool chalk can be a little on the messy side, but I've heard nothing but good things about the Pyro in regards to the residue it leaves behind.

    tips..........

I've never used any of the popular American pool brands like Triangle or Le Pro, but I have tried an Elk Pro in the past. Seems to compress less often than a standard Elk Master. Chalk adhesion was also pretty good. Currently have a super soft ADR147 on my playing cue, which I have heard...

UK Open (9B), May 17-22, 2022 -- field full already

Jon McAllister, Clint I'Anson and Arfan Dad are playing? Hell, yeah. Great to see some familiar English pool faces playing nine-ball. I'm not sure I've ever seen any of them play it, but they are all IPA professionals, so it'll be interesting.

147 Sports Bar Premier Pool Series VIII (Blackball) *LIVE*

Been following the 147 Sports Bar since 2016. Probably my favourite YouTube channel for live pool.

    Taom Chalk

I've always kept chalk in my right back pocket as I'm playing. No real need for a chalk pouch with Taom because it doesn't make a mess of the insides of your pocket.

    Taom Chalk

How does it compare to the green 2.0? I'm thinking of picking some up for my English pool cue.

What is in your pool kit? Like what do you carry when you just want to go play pool?

One-piece Halo-style aluminium case with my playing cue (Peradon custom) and my break cue (Jason Owen). I also have a small bag strapped to the case for extra chalk, shaft cleaner, 6" mini butt, tip maintenance equipment and sheets of A4 paper. If we're talking the bare necessities for a few...
