Dynaspheres Tungsten 572 Pool Ball Set

The Dynaspheres Tungsten 572 balls are on sale so I took the plunge and bought a set. I've always been a fan of the Cyclops set. These are not exactly the same colors as the Cyclops but these aren't the hideous TV sets we have today. The 4 is purple, the 5 is orange, but the 6 is grey and the 7...

Playing in BCA league that doesn't use Fargo.

BCA sold the league to CSI. There isn't a BCA league anymore. It would be called BCAPL and is run by CSI which uses Fargo to handicap the leagues. So I have no idea what these other posters are talking about. Maybe some old timers holding out. idk.

Bob on the internet talking pool instruction

Thanks Bob for doing this. I remember many years ago learning Straight Pool from you, at Shorline Billiards, as you ran racks. lol. And in the early 2000s learning BCA instruction from SF Billiards. Good to see you man.

    Daimoninzing New Valley

No they didn't. Blues play short by ~20% on 1 rail. 2 track 3 rail is off my half a diamond. I play on blue diamonds all the time. 800 match games in the past 3 years.

I just learned of a new pool hall, in Downtown Austin TX.

Looks like fun to me. Way back when, my brother and I would go down to Shakespeare's and play the college kids for beers. And then check out some music. 6th street was a good time.

    Daimoninzing New Valley

As mentioned above I put the penguin pro pockets on my valley. Same facing angle, pockets are a little tighter. 4 1/4 vs 4 1/2. But we can't compensate for the deep shelves of the diamonds. Also the valley banks true. Anyway I like how mine plays. It can be unforgiving.

    Schon cue extension

I had a rick roper for my schon. It was ok. Too fine a thread tho. Too many turns to attached/deattach. I decide to go with the tiger x adapter. So much easier. And they have multiple sizes. 3/6/11 inch.

Highlighted is why I prefer "hot" race matchups. Give the edge to the lower rated player. :)

Which rear cue extensions have bumpers that fit an unthreaded 3/4" opening?

You could ask Rick Roper. He makes carbon fiber extensions for many cues. Also you could take the weight bolt out and check thread size. There are a few Tiger X extensions that may fit depending on the threads.

Do the Pro's have any annual competitions in Phoenix, AZ?

Ultimate Pool USA had an event in Mesa at Dozer's. Played in February. A few pros from the US and UK showed up. I believe they are scheduled to be back next year.

I played 15 years of 8 ball on 9' tables. Second ball break worked fine for me. Ran out plenty of racks.

    (Un)Popular Opinion on Fargo Rate

How many of those 22,000 games are actually used in his fargo rate calculation? I'm pretty sure there is a time decay in the calculation.

Take all of the weight out of your break cue

No. the equation in play here is conservation of momentum. p=mv. so a cue with 30% more mass only needs 78% of the velocity to have equal momentum.
