Question about Cue lathe bed height?

Thanks Guys Neil you gave me an ideal. I think i will do the legs where I can adjust the height. Thanks Tom I measured the height like Neil said with my elbows at 90 and i am at about 40 also. So I think i will make 40 at center height of chuck and have my legs adjust + and - about 3 inches. I...

Question about Cue lathe bed height?

Just wondering, what would be the ideal lathe bed height? I am going to make a narrow rolling table for my Custom/Mid America/Hightower lathe. LOL Im used to do a lot of pro shop work on a Hightower and had it mounted at about 33 inches but just seemed low. Oh, I am 6' tall.

    Wrap ID....Cortland, Blue Mtn.?

Just wondering if anyone can identify. wrap is super tight, super smooth not coarse, the green specks you cant tell they are green unless right up on it in really bright light. I know this is typical of Cortland but not sure the pattern is correct. The modern irish linen you definitely can tell...

    Need Help on Cue ID??

Well, Glad i took a chance and got it. Richard Black sent me a text yesterday. He stated that it appears to be a cue I would have done in 1976. That was the first year I was making cues full time. The original price with 2 shafts would have been 150 bucks. . ...nope not taking a 150...

    Need Help on Cue ID??

It is a 5/16x18. I think he did very few with the pin. Butt is 28.5 and shaft is 29.5. What is unusual too is that the pin is about 3/16" longer than normal. Also something strange is it has something under the wrap. The wrap is pressed very tight. The ferrules are not ivory or linen based. just...

Critique my stroke - video analysis

There is two things that you should try to correct. First, you are approaching the shot wrong. What i'm talking about is the approach you take before you are down and in position. This is why you are to high and the butt is elevated to much and you look uncomfortable. Like book collector said...

    Need Help on Cue ID??

crazy thing too if it was a production it wouldnt it be common for joint and butt ringwork to match but its slightly different below joint. Has alternating 1 dashes and 2 smaller dashes below joint. @ RSmith Yes appears to be. I was looking at that. Im going to have to get pic of ferrules from...

    Need Help on Cue ID??

This cue has got me stumped. Ringwork looks like production but butt cap and bumper looks like custom even old early 70's joss. the wrap appears to be old cortland linen. The pin inserts on shaft doesnt look typical for cheap asian production and unusual to have 2 shafts for cheap player. comes...
