    Filler Vs. Gorst

That would be great. Is it me, or is there not a lot of interesting pool going on? Have not been following it closely so please do refer me to some good stuff.

    Congress should pass a law

I believe congress only wants pink balls and one orange. All other colors can go back in the box.

Previous generations would be completely in the dark what this means 😄 Pool anno 2025: no you can't charge your cue, my cigarette is charging.

A New Pool game...? Yes... Look inside...

I think this is it. Ive been there. Get the idea, fall in love with it, and then hit the brick wall of Azbilliards reality. In the end I learned a lot from such failures. Each one gets a little further until one succeeds. Not necessarily pool related in my case. Im building elsewhere too.

Also 3 players never was an issue to me. We'd play winner stays and I didn't mind to watch and then do my best to win back the table.

These kind of testers of testers are gold. Other peoples test are valuable too, but every now and then there's someone willing to dive in and test edge cases and stuff the creater didn't even think about.

A New Pool game...? Yes... Look inside...

Haha I would love that! I indeed have a more "open source, let's build together" mindset about creating a new poolgame. Partially because I don't think there's much money to be made* and partially because I think ideas can evolve from good to great when others are inspired by it and come up with...

I hope that in case it wont go to market, @newpoolgame is willing to share the idea!

I did not know either game and there are similarities indeed. Adding the carom to continue might make 9-ball too easy? Next time Ill try to shoot a video with us playing 9-Carom™.

    Texas One Shot

It was a quick fix, but we did end up playing it all night!

    Texas One Shot

For an early winning shot one has to be either super elite or lucky. Moving the 9 is already challenging, controlling the 9 is usually almost impossible. So it's hardly feasable to execute something that has a bit of a plan, in the current ruleset.

    Texas One Shot

The positive thing: the main rule "keep shooting if you move the 9" is a fun and simple mechanism. But in my opinion the rest of the game needs *something*, because it is kind of broken. Take the game played at 24:40 The players sometimes succesfully move the 9, but it does not reward them...

    Texas One Shot

We played one game. But it was borderline impossible to really implement some strategy. Say I hit the one, then the 9, and I can keep shooting. But the 1 ended up somewhere randomly (moving the 9 has priority) and I face the same challenge: a difficult carom to begin with and mostly hope to move...

A name, not really. 9-carom? 9-billiard? Yes shooting a carom of the lowest number into the 9 is challenging. Having to pot the 9 as well is mostly luck for 95% of the players, I think. And there is no reward for potting a ball. With this pointsystem there were a couple strategies: -...

    Texas One Shot

So today I had the opportunity to play for a couple of hours and we played Texas One Shot. It quickly became apparent that the regular rules are just too difficult. A game takes long and the odds of making the 9 are too low. So we tweaked the rules by adding a scoring system and had a pretty...

    Texas One Shot

Yes, the game should be played thoroughly wuth the original rules first. I'm curious! Im not playing very often anymore, but I'll pitch it in my pool group.

    Texas One Shot

Yes this got me a little puzzled at first. It feels like something is needed here - but perhaps not! Im curious to try it with the original rules, but I would spice it up with: Player keeps shooting if: 1) the 9ball moves 2) the ball with the lowest number is hit first and any ball is potted...
