New Room in San Francisco's Mission district called 'The Hall'

He played a sporty game of Three Cushions as well!

    Thorsten Hohmann

Several years back the addition of Morra and Alex (even Jason Klatt) would have made a huge difference, but that ship sailed a long time ago. A missed opportunity by Matchroom to level the playing field imo.

Bob was a real beauty! I loved his sense of humor. He saw humor in just about everything. Thank God we had a Bob Byrne!

Help on selling Mosconi Cup tickets

Be very careful with using the Resale option on any ticketing site. There's a lot of scammers using it. I got hit by one on two high end Tennis tix ($700 worth). There is no recourse if you get burned!

    Tommy Kennedy

TK from FLA! Another one of the great little guys playing pool. He was and is always a contender. Maybe won more tourneys in Florida than anyone else.

Matchroom, WNT, Mosconi Cup, and American Pro Pool

17-28 overall. That's worse than I thought. You would think that Shane's record should be more the reverse of that, like 28-17. That is if he had played up to his standards. All I can remember is all the missed balls. I wonder what his Fargo would be for all those matches. I'm guessing closer to...

    Thorsten Hohmann

To bad they didn't include Thorsten on this years Team USA. I'd pick him over at least three of the others chosen. If green card Gorst is on the team, then why not a real American citizen!

Whatever happened to the PBT revival?

Don Mackey was involved, even after he had fleeced the pro players and Camel all those years ago. The fact that he was welcomed back by Pat Fleming at the International Open and had Kim Davenport and Reed Pierce in his booth supporting him made me sick to my stomach.

A List of the Greatest Pool Players of All-Time

Many decades ago Lassiter was quoted as saying, "I would watch a man play. If he missed more than one ball in an hour I knew I could beat him."

He does not put in the time on each table prior to a match like he used too. Lack of motivation gets us all at some point in time. Earl's been doing this for fifty years now! He was burned out long ago.

A List of the Greatest Pool Players of All-Time

Modern day all the top players work on their break. A lot! Dennis used to spend hours on my Diamond just breaking the balls, first 9-Ball and then Ten Ball. Once in a while he would run out the rack, but mostly rack and break, rack and break, over and over again.

Brunswick gold crown 7 video ..everything new walk through from the expo!

They play good though. That's what matters most to me. I always did like a tough table though. Separates the men from the boys. The Anniversary was by far the most beautiful table imo. It was also the heaviest with over one inch slate and a super heavy frame. Played great for a seventy year old...

Brunswick gold crown 7 video ..everything new walk through from the expo!

I'd like to know if you can buy a Rasson table in the U.S. Sure liked the ones I saw in the Phillippines. Over here (the PI) a very good pool table can be had for $2,500-3,000. No reason to buy a "name" brand that plays no better for a lot more. I could buy any table I wanted and did have some...

    Constant Tip Shaping is annoying!

Little Al Romero used to leave a small bare spot in the middle of tip that he never roughed up. He said it played better that way. And then there's Rafael Martinez. He played with a tip worn down to the nub, barely anything there, just a little bump at the end of his ferrule. And he could make...

Karate as I recall. Pretty standard stuff back then but it helped make him a force on the tournament scene. He credited it for helping him mentally and physically.

A List of the Greatest Pool Players of All-Time

That is correct. David learned how to put his whole torso into the break and used his legs for leverage. He was probably the first guy who "threw" himself into the break and didn't just use arm strength. He taught Jean Balukas how to break when it had been a weak part of her 9-Ball game before...

A List of the Greatest Pool Players of All-Time

George got clocked after he hurt his shoulder and he had to take something off his break shot. He told me he had to be careful or he would dislocate it again.
