In judo you practice falling correctly so you don't get injured. It's hard to practice this in pool most players recreate tournament play with gambling, but it's not the same. Tournament match is do or die. You gotta come with the shot, there is no next set to recoup.

Thanks pdx, I'll bear that in mind. Love the schrager. I was expecting this Martin to be bulky, but it's a fairly delicate and well proportioned cue. It's a bit shorter than standard though. The patina and finish is beautiful

Only hit a few balls. The ivory ferrule plays better than the other shaft and the tip is in the sweet spot of thickness (nearly too thin, but still just enough meat. That other tip is crapped out. I'll change it to soft and keep a med or hard in the ivory shaft which the longer and larger of the...
