    US Open 2026: Frisco, Texas

Austin and Houston do as well. It's less than a 4 hour drive from either to Frisco, so you can expect some other Texan attendance. I plan on going up for at least a couple days. With regards to outages, that more of a cold weather thing than a hot one so that shouldn't be an issue.

Has anyone here played with a "Glass Fiber Carbon" pool cue shaft?

Rhino's Evo brand comes with a shaft that they call that. It's OK. Makes a hell of a break shaft. Edit to add: Rhino also made a G shaft that was fiberglass. That's what I was referring to.

    Wrapless pool cues

I usually shoot wrapless, but I keep a cue with a wrap in my bag just in case of humidity.

    broken cue ball

I've used a one-piece phenolic for ~20 years. I break pretty hard and haven't seen any issues with chips or broken balls. Never knew phenolics were banned, but it appears they aren't now. I recently got a White Diamond installed on a backup break shaft and I am getting better breaks than...

    Specialized Chalks - Pricing/Performance/Pre-shot routine/etc.

I like Kamui Roku. I like it because it's a bit softer and easier to apply than V10. I think I pay about $30 for one. I get it to about 2/3s in about a year, then I give it away and use a new one. I've converted a few folks that said that fancy chalk was too expensive.

    How would you fix this?

Ha, I know where you saw that cue. If it makes any difference, the cue needs to be refinished as well.

Filler at The Derby 2/1/2026 Just won against Shane 9 B 9-0

That was nuts. And to think he was sick earlier in the week. Hopefully, SVB can bounce back in one pocket.

    Fedor New Cue?

I've got a Stryker brand cue that is a little warped that I would bring for him to use. No doubt he'd kick my butt enen then.

    Pagulyan Carbon Fiber shaft?

$800 is really wild. I'm still waiting on someone that shot with one at Derby to comment. Odd that no one has so far, at least that I've seen. Kinda seems like he would have handed a couple out to some better non-sponsored players for testimonials and such.

    Pagulyan Carbon Fiber shaft?

Fantastic marketing, this guy. Here's the video of this. Can't say I was interested before, but I can definitely say I am not now.

    Question about Derby cues

For me, the short answer is the more recognizable players are going to play with their sponsor's cue/shafts and that just isn't going to be wood or traditional for the most part as production makers are making traditional cues less and less. Traditional makers like Schon, Joss, and the like...

    Custom Cue Prices Today

It may very well be more expensive but I'm hoping to keep it around $1200 or so. I'm a sucker for highly figured wood so that could definitely affect price. This is a maker near Houston. Once we nail down a price and timeline, I'll say who it is.

    Custom Cue Prices Today

Funny enough, I'm in the beginning stages of getting a cue built and was wondering what the Hoppe Titleist style cue I want will run. I figure I'm in for at least a grand. I definitely wish I would have gotten the custom bug 5-10 years ago. There are a bunch of makers that I would love to...
