    Shoot again

Yes, I agree it's a rule that almost can't be used outside of tournament play. I was making a point in how different pool and snooker are.

    Shoot again

I am getting the sense that there is a miss understanding about the shoot again option in snooker, as SJM stated it is usually after an attempted kick that results in a foul. The incoming player has the option to accept the table or make the other player shoot the shot again. In the case where...

    Shoot again

What the "shoot again" rule does in snooker is to eliminate any intentional fouls, why would you ever want to do that to 1P?

the pool scene in the Covid world

Our Rec center has 1 out of three rooms open, you must sign up in advance and wear a mask. No spectators and a max of 2 players per table. I have tried it a couple of times and still don't really feel that comfortable so for now no pool. I don't like it but feel it's the right thing to do.

Wording on Covid waivers (if any) to use tables at your local rec center or poolroom?

Hi Joe When I Iived around Chicago my last location was Bolingbrook. Then moved to a small town, Lena, close to Freeport. Wintered in Green Valley for about 10 years, bought a house and made the move about 3 years ago. I'm originally from the SW side of Chicago near Midway airport. Hope it...

Wording on Covid waivers (if any) to use tables at your local rec center or poolroom?

Hi Joe, Yep, sure the guys enjoyed playing with you all, I didn't participate since my game is one pocket. We have had a mixed reaction to the situation here, about half the regular players have not come back yet. Sure hope things get back to "normal" soon. Bob

Wording on Covid waivers (if any) to use tables at your local rec center or poolroom?

This will make sense to Arnaldo, here's what GVR is doing if your not already aware. Play is by reservation only, on line sign up. Must wear mask. Playing periods are in two hour blocks with a 1 hour period in between to clean. Number of people in the room is limited to 2 per table, no...

    Mezz Cue ZZ-36

Put me down for Mezz also, I have had Lucasi and Schon cues. I prefer my wrapless EC-7. The others are good but the Mezz seems just bit better, IMO..

THE HUSTLER MOVIE this Sunday April 19 on TCM

I noticed some thing watching the beginning of the movie that I hadn't paid any attention to before. Eddie breaks the first game against Fats and has the " I didn't leave you much" line. Fats replies "you left enough" and plays a dead combo out of the pack. The entire sequence appears to me as...

    Owning A Pool Table

Had to give up my table, Bruswick Anniverary, when we moved to AZ. Sure wish I had it today. Down here houses just ain't as spacious and with no basements tough to have a home table.

Changing out new cloth for Simonis

I play on Olhausens with 860HR every day, IMO it's not the cloth it's the rails. My other option is blue label Diamonds also with 860HR and the difference is amazing. We are trying to get them to replace the Olhausens with Diamonds. Our tables do get a fair amount of play and the Olhausens just...

Will We Ever See Anyone More Amazing?

Good stuff, some of the shots are beyond amazing. Just watch and enjoy his skill. How he comes up with some of these shots is also a lot to comprehend.

    9ft vs 7ft

Since you said you have the room for a 9' table that would be the way I'd go. You can play all the games on a 9', one pocket, 14.1, 8 ball and 9 ball. Get comfortable on a 9' and the bar box IMO becomes easier.

What’s the Most Frustrating Aspect of Being an Aging Pool Player?

At 77 I'm just glad to be playing, about a year ago I had a very serious spinal issue that required surgery and a long recovery period. One of the things that got me through it was my strong desire to get back to playing. Do notice some things such as having a harder time seeing the edges of...
