WNT Florida Open 2026, August 4-9, Orlando, Caribe Royale

Bergman plays Jesus Atencio next. SVB gets Souquet. Tyler Styer vs Elliott Sanderson. Skyler vs Petri Makkonen. Either Chris Reinhold or Shane Wolford guaranteed to get to the final 32. Styer could play the winner. Styer has the easiest path to the semis, then Sky. SVB would probably have...

Twelve Americans advance. Thorpe should have been one of them. Couple of bad decisions cost him vs Eklent Kaci. Meglino also lost a tough one to Stefan Huber, 10-9. Top players ousted: Naoyuki Oi Jonas Souto Mario He Jeffrey De Luna Those were the only four players in the event who have...

WNT Florida Open 2026, August 4-9, Orlando, Caribe Royale

You can't have a tour and a season if there is not a reward for the players. Besides, players should have to earn it. Not Thorsten's fault that SVB, Gorst and Sky have missed events this year. Lukas might not play for a while, so I'd expect him to be overtaken. We'll see.

    WNT, WPA and 2026

I agree. Just seems to be a lot more tension from the quarters on. The stage setup and cameras play a role. The rooms are always darker too, something I noticed recently for the first time.

    WNT, WPA and 2026

Agreed, but I don't expect this to change anytime soon. For now I hope the competition sharpens both of them, and shows us what works and what doesn't. Your responses to my post above were reasonable. I don't quibble with them. In my view, the only way pro pool might achieve notably more...

    WNT, WPA and 2026

Not that I have heard. Looking at the WPA calendar, there are only 1-2 spots potentially available in either Nov or Dec. It's tight.

I like what Predator is doing, but I don't see it as either/or. Nothing is free, of course. Somebody is paying for hosting the attendees or letting people watch live streams. The question is, does "free" in this regard generate more revenue overall than requiring onsite attendees to pay, plus...

Historically it is not unusual, though it has become less common in recent years.

    New WNT.TV platform

I like the new platform much better than the original one. You can access matches immediately - start watching live or start from the beginning. No more waiting hours or days for matches to be uploaded after they finish. The FF and RW functions are much better. The video is better and more...

    WNT, WPA and 2026

Saw an interview with Predator CEO Karim Belhaj. Evidently Predator is holding an event in Jacksonville, Fla in December (15th to 20th) that will bring together the best 16 men's player and the best 16 women's players. What Karim called an "all-star" event. Seems there will be a World Masters...

WNT Florida Open 2026, August 4-9, Orlando, Caribe Royale

There are 48 Americans left in final 128. Eight are guaranteed to get to the final 64 since eight matches involve U.S. players vs each other. Based on the matchups, I'd expect 13 of the 48 Americans to advance to the final 64.

WNT Florida Open 2026, August 4-9, Orlando, Caribe Royale

None of the 43 players in the event who are in the top 100 of Fargo Rate were eliminated in the first two days. All made it to the final 128. The only top players sent to the losers side, but who made the final 128, were: Aloysius Yapp Naoyuki Oi Jeffrey De Luna Mickey Krause (lost to...

Goldstein has gotten much better compared to his WNT debut a few years ago. He’s definitely put in the work. I’ve enjoyed watching him.

No problem with the pockets in his current match, Bergman. Seems pissed off and he’s pocketing everything.

WNT Florida Open 2026, August 4-9, Orlando, Caribe Royale

The pockets might be a hair under 4 inches, commentators said. I saw Bergman's first match. He wasn't bothered by tight pockets at all. Today he definitely was.

Come now, skog, you and I both know he can get a great one for free. He's got a sponsor now - Viking! I just don't understand why he persists in jumping with a full cue at all. Kick it instead if you are going to be so stubborn.

What, in your opinion, is the minimum Fargo you should have before entering a WNT Open?

None. It's an open.First come first serve. WNT tried qualifiers, but my guess is they didn't get enough people to justify the process/expense. It doesn't look like they have them anymore, at least not recently. No matter. Every amateur I see joining these opens clearly has put in the time...

WNT Florida Open 2026, August 4-9, Orlando, Caribe Royale

Jesse played more like a 750 Fargo than a 650. Hit some big banks. Made some nice safeties. Pocketed most of the shots a good player should pocket. Bergman, on the other hand, did not play well in the second half the match. He jumped to 4-0 and 7-3 leads, then missed a bunch of key shots. Two...
