Bergman, on the other hand, did not play well in the second half the match. He jumped to 4-0 and 7-3 leads, then missed a bunch of key shots. Two misses on the 9, as mentioned. One of them he shot too hard into the side pocket. Easy shot he should make 99 of 100.

His safety play, and one pushout in particular, were particularly poor and uncharacteristic of him.

In the last game, Bergman also tried a really tough backcut on the 7 when a safety was the best option.

What really bugged me was Bergman jumping with a full cue. He hit the ball he was trying to jump over, which he has done before. If you are going to jump at all, learn to use a damn jump cue!

It was almost comical how Jesse came back. A Bergman miss on an basic 9 into the side. Bergman leaving an easy combo for the 9 ball for an early win in a rack. Jesse getting three fouls on Bergman. Jesse fluking in the 9.

Take something for granted, and it's bound to bite you in the rear.

i'm not sure, but i seem to recall something about him not liking them, and that he does not own one. it was mentioned during world 8b. yes he is normally a very good kicker.

obviously in today's game you're toast without a jump cue.

we will see. this is his first big MR event, i think. he mostly competes on barboxes, but when he played tony 1p on a tight 9ft table he played lights out. premier league pool he did ok. maybe he will ease into it, become more comfortable, maybe not.
 
Is the Diamond table a new wood color? It looks lighter than what I’ve seen before. I know the cloth is pink from a prior thread. Just the wood.

4” pockets with brand new cloth are easy for any pro. My local room has 4 1/8” Diamond factory pockets. The cloth was changed 2 weeks ago, and my banger self played great on it these two weeks.

The problem becomes when these tables get sold to local rooms that change the cloth yearly if we are lucky, and no one can run out when worn and every other ball hangs up on the diamond mile deep shelf.

Cloth is actually grey. Very similar to the Simonis Shark gray.
The table looks like PRC, but with a gray laminate and black tracers/logos.

The pockets play okay with brand new cloth on shots down the rail. The shot into the mouth of the pocket isn’t that much easier with new cloth (yeah a few will wiggle in).
 
tried watching on the free table twice, both times was that j'off goldstein or whatever his name his. bullshit, he can't play a lick he's just one of Barry's buddies.

In fairness, he’s around 600 Fargo with 147 games. And it’s not that he’s Barry’s buddy - he’s a radio and tv personality in the UK. It’s like if Joe Rogan plays the US Open. He’s going to be on some livestream, because maybe some of his many fans will watch and become fans of the game in general.

Goldstein has gotten much better compared to his WNT debut a few years ago. He’s definitely put in the work. I’ve enjoyed watching him.

To me 4 inchers aren't 5 inchers. That's all. You lose an inch of slop. Woo. Cower before your nemesis.
Or practice combinations and other low slop pool shots.
If you can't manage combinations, work on your alignment and shooting mechanics.

Touring pros should have all that and more, ready to go.
