Real White MOP - will it discolor over time?

My uncle was a navy welder in the South Pacific on an LST during WW2. He made a ring out of stainless that was flat on top with a diagonal slot across the face where he machined and inlayed a beautiful piece of MOP. A local islander told him that that piece of mop would shrink over the years...

    Cue Companion

Hi, Willy speaks the truth. I bought a Cue Companion 3 as my first lathe to do tips at my Billiards Cafe in 2002. In the next ten years that lathe earned me over 15,000.00 per year or a total of over 150,000.00 in the ten years I was in business. That lathe paid for everything I purchased to...

    3 points

Hey Chris, Forgot to mention you were the inspiration for the idea and request for walking on the wild side with the 3 point wide geometry on these cues. I love the look. Not something you see. After failing on the first attempt it lead to starting with a 13" forearm and cutting a 1" x .800...

    3 points

Hi, I built two 3 point half splice cues and because the wall thickness between the points at the bottom were so thin it was very difficult. The v grooves were past the center core of the cue at the bottom. The 3 wide point geometry has a very striking look! Rick

    Taper of the butt portion?

Hi, I have a compound taper with a very slight sweeping or curve to the contour from the butt cap to the A joint. Parabolic taper is a discription like xerox or Kleenex respectively. I do this because I designed my A Joint dia at 1.006 with finish. So if the butt end is 1.245 to 1.006 at the...

Show your Prince - Davis cues , or cues using a Davis blank.

Hi, Here is a flame veneer blank I picked out at John's shop two years ago that is an unfinished sealed cue blank hanging in my shop. Hard Curly Forearm, Ebony Points and Butt Sleeve. It has elforyn inlays and elforyn razor boxes in the butt sleeve with a Hoppe ring. It is the 3rd Davis...

    Unique Travel Tipper?

Hi, The Cue Companion was my first cue lathe and I made over $ 150,000.00 in cue repair at my pool hall with it during a 10 year period. I also built my first sneak Pete on it. Total maintenance was 3 drive belts in 13 years for less tha 25.00. Sold it for 2/3 of new price after 13 years...
