Sorry, have not worked with Juma. Depending on grain direction, many materials including "natural" will soften enough to become quite flexible and able to be relatively easily manipulated when boiled. Some of those will require a form/mold to push back into the shape you want before they dry...

Build the rings in halves. Or smaller integral sections. Can be indiscernable in wood and some plastics. Probably not ideal in any metals.
