An interesting thing happened to me on Saturday and i'd like to share it to see if anyone else has had a similar experience. ok, setting the scene; Handicap KO, rounds first to 7 then 9 in the final, The top guy who has just turned pro is on a -2 start, I'm off scratch, English pool on 7ft...

    Decal cues

Personally, I hate painted or Decal cues for one reason. They chip, crack, and wear of the finish. My current player is a £25 cue that I rescued from the bin. I took a blow torch to the paint and scraped off all the 'fake' that was concealing the sh1tty wood underneath. The cues is...

Cuemakers with English cue building experience needed

When i say 'quick' i mean in comparison to a cue with 8 points, 4 vaneers, 4 complex rings and 100+ inlays. Time is not really the issue, if it takes weeks or months i'm not TOO bothered, i just meant quick as in a simple cue.

    How Does Cuaba Play?

Nice video in a relaxed setting, not 'put on' or cheesy and a nice looking atmosphere. Question though, how big are those pockets?:eek::eek: I'm not trying to get anyone's backs up here so please forgive me if it comes off that way. The only American pool I have ever seen or played was...

Cuemakers with English cue building experience needed

I've used solidworks to determine the mass based on what Dymondwood claim to be a density of 0.67oz/in^3 to 0.75oz/in^3.

Cuemakers with English cue building experience needed

So is this stuff really heavy? like REALLLLLY heavy? I was thinking something like this. I've run a simulation and have found that the Dymondwood would weigh between 8.96oz and 9.92oz. This would still leave around 8oz for the shaft and metal work.

Cuemakers with English cue building experience needed

Have you built an English pool or snooker cue before? If so, i'd be interested in your services for a LOW COST cue for my girlfriend. Typical girl, she loves PINK. So what i'm thinking is a full splice cue but using DYMONDWOOD ---> http://www.rrpwhite.com/color%20chart.htm Using Bahama...

    How far off the cue?

6'3" 255lbs and my cue rarely leaves my cue, but i play English 8 ball and snooker so i think it may come down to a difference in the games and styles.

    up against the rail

IMHO... elevate the cue slightly to give a larger target area on the cue ball but more importantly make sure you have a smooth through stroke. If you stab at the CB which is easy to do in this situation you may find that you slash at it and impart unwanted side spin.
