I have a red circle and a measle ball. I prefer the measle ball for most games and shoot with it the most often. Around here it also seems to be the most common used in tournaments and league.

Yep sounds like someone who was decent at pool beating bar bangers, and trying clumsy hustle that won't work on anyone but casual players. The times he meet actual players he lost. The hustlers he thought he was encountering we're likely just decent players not hustlers.

So basically forget about an epic safety battle, If it is too good, both players run out of time... OP I think you are creating a problem that doesn't exist. Shot clock works and works well. Both players have the same amount of time to complete a shot.
