    Can playing with a 11.75 shaft make you better?

    I've shot with 13 until about 3 weeks ago. I went down to 12.3 for easier spin. I seldom hit the ball hard and couldn't get much spin with the 13. I didn't give up much accuracy with 12.3 but have increased spin. I have no desire to go to 11.75.

    Bought a palmer cue off ebay. Love it but someone covered the butt in wax apparently. It has a strong odor. Anybody ever see something like this?.what did you do? Cleaners don't work.

    Custom cues

    Just purchased a Stinger and Sneaky Pete from Jerry Powers at Jerico. I'm no expert on cues but I'm very happy with them. I now have a deposit for a Merry Widow with Jerry Olivier. That will be it for me. Selling my Joss as that Sneaky hits much better.

    How can you tell if a cue is straight?

    I had a cue practically sold yesterday before the pool hall authority took a look. It rolled fine. Just fine. So he then took it to an unlit table and rolled it until a sliver of light could be seen between cue and table. There you go..... warped butt.
