Out of curiosity, why do you cut off the flange, wouldnt it be usefull in the future if you wanted to chage the carriage to do another purpose? Just askng. I do like your steady rest, its well thought out.

Played six hours tonight with a new Ultraskin Soft on my OB Classic shaft fitted to my Varney BEM cue. It played very well, not a bit of mushrooming after six hours of hard play. We played 9-ball, 8-ball, straight pool and one pocket, The tip holds chalk very well, even though I am in the habit...

I have a blue 5 claw and a black 2 claw...I dont ever go out without one of them. They are the best.

Joey The hole in the middle causes the tip to do a reverse mushrooming effect, instead of outward, after playing it continues to move inward countering the effects of mushrooming LOL...just a theory on my part Hehehe

Definately do not use a tip pick on a layered tip. It will break down the glue layers in between and cause the tip to delaminate. Once it is properly shaped, I would say at the most use something like the Kamui Gator Grip on the tip, nothing else. So far, these tips are amazing quality and...
