Pocket specs say the back (throat) of the pocket opening should be narrower than the front (mouth), apparently so the pocket will reject some balls that hit the facing at the "wrong" speed/angle. My question: the ball has to get past the mouth to hit a facing - why isn't that good enough? pj...

I've always maintained that there are too many different cut angles* needed in pool for any usable aiming system to possibly "define" all of them so precisely that any shot can be made by following the system's instructions to the letter, without the need to recognize the final aim solution...

CF is about 3 times as dense as maple, so to make a CF shaft that deflects (squirts) less than a solid maple shaft of the same diameter, it must have less than 1/3 the cross sectional area of the solid maple shaft at the tip. That means for a 12.7mm (1/2") shaft the CF version must be hollowed...
