Luke Littler- Darts phenom leading to huge growth in the sport

I don't follow Darts- barely know how to play, so I was surprised when I read this article about how lucrative it is becoming. Makes you wonder if the same is possible for pool- perhaps if a phenom comes along is promoted by Match Room. I am biased toward pool, but I think most people would...

Interesting article on the decline of Bowling

Just read this article about the decline of bowling. Never really been into bowling, but I noticed some parallels to pool- debates about who business owners should cater to (causals vs serious players), traditional games/tables (of course the bar table craze in the US and I didn't know that...

    Ronnie O'Sullivan article

The NY Review of Books published an in depth profile of O'Sullivan in the most recent edition of the magazine. Quite an interesting read. I never knew of the tough experiences he had (the incarceration of his father and mother). The author also provides thought provoking analysis about the...

    Brunswick team event 1987- Balukas/Mizerak vs. Hopkins/Jones and Sigel/Mataya vs. Rempe/Bearden

Great recommendation from my YouTube algorithm. Hard to find any footage of Balukas on YouTube

Archer vs. Sigel 1993 Accu Stats

This is one of the best matches I've watched recently. Both players shot a great match- fun to see them in prime form. Crowd was very much into the match. Good commentary. I wish tournaments were played on these old Brunswicks more in current times.

Jeremy Long- solid prospect for Mosconi Cup?

He fared very well in the Chuck Markulis Memorial- he beat SVB 10-4 and lost in the finals to Styer. I haven't seen him play before this tournament, but he looks very solid. If he keeps it up, perhaps he should be a candidate for the MC

Accu Stats intro music late-90s, early-2000s

I could listen to this on repeat forever! They should have kept it. I like the video clips accompanying it too. Daulton had one of the funniest break techniques I've ever seen.

    Costa Rica open brackets?

Anybody know where to find the brackets for this tournament?

    Wyoming Open

Are they still having this tournament? I really enjoy seeing pros play on the same type of tables I usually play on in league- 7 foot Valleys. It is interesting to see how they pick apart an 8 ball rack and the Saratoga game (combination of 8 and 9 ball basically) is quite challenging- even...

    Crockett Memorial

Does anybody know who won the tournament? I went to sleep around 10:30 so I didn't see the end and the bracket wasn't updated as far as I can tell

    Kaci car accident

Just saw on Kaci's Instagram that he broke his left arm and suffered tendon injuries in his left arm during a severe car accident. He will likely be out of action for months. I wish him a full and speedy recovery

    Faster cloth on 7 footer

I have a 7 footer in my garage that needs new cloth (I’ve had it for 9 years and it gets a lot of play). I want somewhat faster cloth. I think I had simonis 860 put on originally- plays slower than a lot of tables I play outside of my house. Is Simonis 760 advised for faster cloth? Also, the...

Earl vs Corey 2002 US Open- great seesaw match

Accu Stats posted his match recently- significant momentum changes in this match. There was a somewhat controversial shot too at 1:02:35- Earl thought Corey double hit, but Scott (the ref) disagreed. Nice debriefing interview at the end of the match too.

Earl vs Efren 1997 US Open Finals

Interesting match. Earl got a lot of rolls, played well, and Efren played about as poor as I've ever seen him play. Earl sporting a modified mullet here too! Why did they seat the players so far away from the table in this tournament?

Billiards Digest article on Morra's switch to shooting left handed

Not sure if people read this article yet. Provides relatively in depth coverage of his struggles and resilience http://www.billiardsdigest.com/new_current_issue/aug_22/bb_index.php

Vibration feeling in cue on close shots always an indication of a foul?

I just got done practicing and I had a shot in which the cue ball was close to the object ball. I shot away from the object ball but still felt a slight vibration feeling in the cue. It got me thinking- is that always an indication of a double hit? If it were a real match, I don’t think it would...

    Lester Smulowitz

In this clip at 23:05, Danny mentions Lester Smulowitz- never heard of him before. He states that he beat Earl 40 games leading up to Earl's first major victory in Tahoe in 1983. Whatever happened to him? Must have been a very talented player if that story is true (Incardona was incredulous).
