Corey has always been brave enough. Over on FB they're going crazy. Funny. It was the only shot he had, it was more or less dead, and he made it. He did have to hit it pretty good and he did have to see it.
I think it is amazing he noticed it- I had no idea where he was going to make it before he shot it- then again, I wasn't at the table to fully appreciate or assess the set up

Amazing shot but thats the things you see when top players play 8 ball or hey ball as they are calling it. If you get down to the 8 and don’t get out you lost . unless you get lucky and leave him safe with all those open balls on the table Alex is out.

Corey continues to amaze with the shots he comes up with. He and Trex are close in that competition.
Efren also could find shots that most others couldn’t find. I have zero chance to see that shot. Seeing those types of shots is just amazing to me.

I really enjoy the "finding and executing crazy difficult and/or creative shots" aspect of pool. In a typical 9-ball match you'd almost always opt for a safe instead of going for something really funky, just because the odds are almost always against you with that funkier option.

Sometimes I like to play a variation of 9-ball with my friends where the only rule difference is that your opponent always gets BIH at the start of their inning. This basically means the effectiveness of safeties is greatly diminished such that you are encouraged to try crazy/creative shots much more just to keep the inning going. A bit like playing the ghost, where you only care about running out and never play safe.

way back they used to have pro 7 ball tournaments that were kind of like that- I think you were allowed 1 safety per rack though

Not to downplay a great shot, but it looks like a regular carom shot.
It was, not a super special shot. I just didn’t see it, I’d like to think I’d find it if I was playing. But unlikely I’d see it at this point.
