St. Louis Louie vs. Archer 1990

Accu-stats dropped this one today. Looking forward to seeing Louie play, have only seen bits and pieces of him prior to this.

    Rick Howard Sneaky Pete

True sneaky from Rick Howard. Bocote and maple with the big pin and full shaft. I’ve had the cue since 2012 and guessing it’s around 15-20 years old. No logo, has ‘RH’ initials on the joint face. The joint diameter is identical to my other Howard so confident it’s one of his cues. Note...

    Cheap Cue Recommendations

My building has a table and the cues have gradually become broken. They were Aska brand, decent Asian-made two piece cues. Shafts have been snapped off at the joint by some clumsy players or drunks. I'd like to get some new ones so residents can play. Any recommendations in the under $50 per...

    Indy Pool Scene

I grew up there and moved away at 23 shortly after I started playing, so don't know all that much. Not ruling out moving back at some point, so curious what the pool scene is like now. Rooms, leagues, local tourneys, etc. Not much interest in playing on bar tables. I've been to Executive and...

    Jensen widow FS

Classic Jensen birdseye maple player. Has the older 'JC' logo, so guessing it's pre-2000 era. Very good condition, no dings or nicks, was likely refinished at some point in life. Butt has a slight roll and shafts have some roll. I hit balls with both and don't see any issues with their play...

    Sold DZ/ Bob Dzuricky Sneaky

Full splice/sneaky made by Bob Dzuricky, made in 2017. Not sure of the base wood, maple forearm. Joint and ferrule are Juma. Signed in the forearm and has the ‘DZ’ logo on the Delrin buttcap. Comes with DZ logo joint protectors. The butt could pass as new and shaft has only faint signs of...

    Netflix drama series featuring pool

Since my significant other is a fanatic of Asian TV dramas, this flew across her radar. Chinese series about a love story between two young pool players. 30 episodes are planned, I watched the first one and they were not playing pool yet, only showing the female lead's cue case. I'm...

    Etiquette Opinion

Playing weekly 9 ball league, friendly setting, but still fairly serious. My opponent misses the 8, I am faced with a fairly tough shot and elect to play safe. I get the cue ball behind the 9. My opponent goes for a jump shot, but contacts the 9 and does not contact the 8. The 9 moves about...

    AJ Manas

Didn't see this posted here so sharing. Kid will be a monster, only 16 now, lost to Big Ko in the final of the tournament.

Came up on my feed today, Sands tournament supposedly from 1986. Solid video quality, no commentary.

    Duong Quoc Hoang

Really like watching this guy play. His stroke, his methodical but efficient style, his facial expression never seems to waver. Being from Vietnam, something tells me he plays three cushion too. Hope he keeps playing in these big events.

    Reyes v. Bustamante Sands 1994

Latest Accu-stats gem. Classic 90s 9 ball, I could watch a young Bustamante play all day.

    Earl Top Shots Compilation

Pretty good compilation of Earl the Pearl. Check out the impossible cut (12:40), jacked up in the jaws draw (17:20) and behind the back wing shot (!) (12:00). https://youtu.be/ecI2mlTnnVw

    USPS delays

I think this was covered previously. USPS is very slow in shipping now, so just a word of caution for anybody shipping valuable cues in the summer. My order was shipped from Mezz US on June 17 and it's still "moving to the next facility" or something. Temperature will hit 97 on the FL Gulf...

    Linen Wraps in the Heat

I play with linen and have been in Florida five years now. My wraps are all getting sticky and rough from play, and I can only think it's related to the humidity here. I've played with linen for years in cooler climates and never had this issue. Anybody have similar issues or a remedy?

    Vancouver and Seattle

Will be in Vancouver and Seattle the first week of April for vacation. Might hit a few balls if there are recommended rooms close to the city. Probably won't have a car. Any recommendations appreciated, thanks.

Mosconi Cup on Eleven Sports network

I get this channel through Frontier here in Florida. They are listing all four sessions of the event. The Crucible was broadcasted on this network so I am hoping this is for real. Hopefully some others get this network too. Their programming is European centric and a nice change up from the...

    Pool in Frankfurt, Germany

Going to layover two nights in financial hub of Deutschland. Any decent rooms in the city to play for a couple hours on a Friday? Will play with any fellow members or happy to play solo. Many thanks.

    Snooker on TV in US

Didn't see this posted elsewhere but apologies if so. My provider (Frontier Communications) has a new network called Eleven Sports which is airing some frames of the World Championships. My listings say there are slots at 2am and 5am EST on May 2. I've recorded a couple already today and it...

    Linen over exotic handles

I switched cues 2 mos ago to a one piece bubinga cue. This cue was in near mint condition. Lately the linen wrap has become rough. I have always used linen wraps and can't recall having this problem; my hands don't sweat much and I rarely eat or drink while playing. Is it possible these...
