    Did I just witness History?

Just watched Tony Stewart win his first top fuel race over Ashley Force. This means he's won races at the top level of Indy Car, NASCAR, and NHRA. Sort of a grand slam. Is he the only one to have done this? Hold on, I'm getting to pool. Tony Stewart & Shannon Daulton are good friends...

    Suggestion for the moderator?

Perhaps combine the threads on Danny's passing? I'd feel silly making a comment on all. If you agree & do so, please delete this post.

    Has anybody done this?

I just finished watching a fun British youtube where an amateur Go-Kart racer put a formula one driver in the same suit & helmet to destroy the other amateurs. It was hysterical. So, why not disguise a top pro pool player and enter him (or her) in a small town low stakes bar tournament? All...

"Double Down South"...not exactly kind to pool, but better acting and plot than some I've seen. Now free on YouTube. Here's the link:

    2014 Match..Earl vs. Neils

The thread on play broadcasts of yesteryear with those of today came to mind when watching this. Found myself comparing Matchroom production with Accu-Stats. Maybe it's an age thing, since I'm old...but I prefer this over the (too sterile?) productions of today.

A quote for cueists to ponder

“I never blame myself when I’m not hitting. I just blame the bat and if it keeps up, I change bats. After all, if I know it isn’t my fault that I’m not hitting, how can I get mad at myself?” – Yogi Berra

    Announcing styles

Put me down as onbe who always enjoyed Danny DeLiberto's commentating. He often put me into stitches...funny as hell in his own way. Here's an old US Open match from 2009. Loved Danny....but I'm not so sure about that other guy...;)

Old Matches aren't fun to watch???

Okay, the old audio is scratchy, the focus isn't the best...but the balls being the right traditional colors make up for that. And...one hell of a match in this old winner break format. Efren vs. Troy Frank...back in '99. Under an hour.

    Amazing talent

Yes, one of those crazy compilation videos of people doing crazy stunts. Yes, I was bored enough to click on it. But go to the 9 minute mark, wait for it...SVB!

    Remember when?

Once upon a time, way back in the 1990's, tournaments were played on green cloth. Not only that, the five ball was orange and the 4 ball was purple. They raced to 13 under a winner break format, using cues with maple shafts. Hard to believe, I know. But here it is, video proof. Johnny vs...

    Does it stop being fun?

I think, for me, pool stopped being fun last week. Playing on a 9' table meant a 90 miles round trip for me, most of it on a 2 lane jammed up freeway...just going to the hall puts me in a foul mood. Then (turned 78 today) the physical problems of old age limits me to only a couple of hours of...
