    Original Balabushka bumper

I would have made it sound much more plausible.... Like it was 3 parts 10-40 motor oil, 2 parts lacquer thinner, and a little rubbing alcohol. When you fish you gotta reel them in.... JV

    Original Balabushka bumper

I think its the latter. The bit he used for the bore was probably a little bigger than the bumper and the tape snugged it up. I do not think George liked slop or play. His machining and assembly techniques were precise. One thing I tell people if you remove the rings from lets say a Palmer, you...

    Original Balabushka bumper

FWIW.. My uncle had Gus install a KU Bumper in his Szamboti when he picked it up in 76 ish... When Barry refinished it in the late 90's he had Barry put a black one in. My uncle kept the brown one. Gus did not tape the bumper. JV

    Original Balabushka bumper

Some of these bumpers turn to sh*t and some stay pretty decent. I would not expect it to devalue it much. We have had quite a few with KU bumper replacement. JV

    Original Balabushka bumper

You guys are so gullible... lol The tape is real which most people know... I want to see how long it takes for the bumper hardening to become an internet myth.... 😂 JV

    Original Balabushka bumper

It doesn't really matter.. the KU-Bumpers out of the box are useless unless you know how he treated them. He had a solution to change the durometer rating of the rubber, which is why they have tape around them. So his are a little more dense than the stock KU bumper. JV

    Mind the buyer's premium....

Obviously it's more statement furniture than pool table. With that website I recommend checking reviews and GOOGLE searches on the auction house/company. JV

    Buying Cues on this site.

The brass tax is this when it comes to buying and selling... not all participants are angels. There are bad buyers and there are bad sellers. At the end of the day, it is who is going to be the one willing to leave themselves open to the potential screw over. There is a whole lot of.. "well I do...

    Buying Cues on this site.

I would expect an official escrow to be proper. But I want to know what parameters I am responsible for, who is paying for my time which will include comparing the cue to the specs that it was sold under, driving it back to a shipper, what if something happens in shipping between ME and the...

If you do not know the other party, or the other party has no history, then yes by all means use a G/S payment. But there are also the guys with skin in the game and you will have zero problem with. I do wish people would read the ad, if the payment terms are F/F only, don't try to slide in the...

    Passing of Jack Colavita

Most the players I knew, starting from the late 70's, all were workers. My uncle drove a truck. Some guys are wired differently. Jack had a family to take care of. Joe Frady was a character and always fun to watch. My uncle would take me to the Golden Cue, I remember the older woman working the...

    Advice on selling ivory-inlayed cue.

I have not seen Elforyn or SuperTusk under black light. However I will say that if I knew that one of the things FWS was going to do, was to blacklight a cue. I would NOT want them to look the same under the light. OR I would put a laser print tag onto the product to say "Not Ivory" only visible...

    Advice on selling ivory-inlayed cue.

Under a black light ivory is bright. For those that do not know how to check. Someone told me some new stuff shows bright, but I haven't seen it. In the butt sleeve the cap is not ivory and you can see the result. JV

Blacklight the ferrule to be sure. You can hassle the seller, and if it is ivory, that gives you bonus leverage. JV
