Cheap vendor for Aramith Super Pro Value Pack (external retail link)

Hey guys, I went on a hunt for a new set of Aramith Super Pros, and found a vendor with what appears to be an incredibly good price. I am in NO way affiliated with this vendor, I'm just passing along the info to the community because it seems to be a very good deal. I triple checked the...

    Links to equipment deals?

Am I allowed to post links to a good deal I find on something that the community may be interested in? I ask, because I found what appears to be a killer price on Aramith Super Pro value pack when I was looking for a new set of balls. I ordered a set, but I'm completely unaffiliated with the...

    McWorter Custom Cue

    Damn that's stylish.

    Accuracy?

Thanks Bill, yeah, I definitely see what you mean. This table rolls slow, but much better than any bar table I've played on, but sometimes I'll hit a rail and it'll bank the opposite direction from what it should. I've tried it over and over on certain spots to make sure I'm not imagining...

    Accuracy?

Thanks, and yes, I plan to do that first certainly, but regardless they'll need to be redone.

    Accuracy?

Actually, is it feasible to send my rails off to have new cushions installed and recovered? Or is it necessary to make adjustments with the table?

    Accuracy?

Also, fwiw, you're right about the sensitivity of the machinist levels. The graduations of these are .005 from one line to the next, that's the thickness of a piece of paper. The brunswick manual suggested 0.020 was acceptable overall, so I assumed as long as I wasn't more than one graduation...

    Accuracy?

Thanks Fastone. Yeah, I shot quite a few racks yesterday, and while I did notice occasional erratic activity when a ball was coming to a stop, I think level of the table isn't the cause. I'm currently playing with what I expect are chinese balls, that feel and sound all sorts of wrong and...

    Accuracy?

Ok so, not finding a local mechanic I was happy with, I assembled my GC (turned out to be a III, not a 4) myself. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, I did one or two steps every few days, taking my time and reading everything I could. As warned by RKC here, I of course ended up with a...

    ebony or african blackwood ???

In the knife world, much of us have moved on from Ebony, to African Blackwood. Availability is a factor, but the primary reason IMO is stability. It moves a lot less than Ebony, which saves makers tons of heart ache. I think this is more of a modern phenomenon, because of the availability of...

    Joint Material

Pardon my ignorance here, but are fossil (mammoth or walrus) ivories, hippo or warthog not viable? None of these are affected by the new Fed rules afaik. You can get white/cream interior mammoth that's quite solid and visually very similar to elephant.

    Rag Micarta (vintage)

Dale, I'm not being trying to be contradictory. I'm also certain that because I know nothing of cuemaking, I'm not describing things in the accepted nomenclature. It's very "tough", and I was specifically trying to make a comparison to the home made "micarta" that people make with fiberglass...

    Rag Micarta (vintage)

Mike, are you an active cue builder? If so, I can send you a piece to try. I'm not here to hawk this stuff. I got enough for me, but that's it. I sold a very small amount in the knife world to recoup my costs but don't have enough to supply anybody else regularly. I would be interested in...
