Many cue builders do what you say; especially when the event is close to their home. On the other hand, that time spent away from the shop means that they have less time to work on cues. It can be a double-edged sword.

Very nice cue. Assuming the pictures show the colors accurately, I think the veneers work with the bacote because the wood is a more reddish color than the typical yellow-y bacote. Not sure if it would have worked otherwise.

The buyer was not happy with my original description or the condition of the cue. I'm not looking for a he said/he said situation and have agreed to reverse the original deal and move on. As far as I know, Panhdlce and I are going down that path. Thanks.
