I know what ya mean Fatboy. I used to drop hundreds at a time to some guy who called himself Pete Tascarella Jr. playing 9 ball!

If I had known this was what he did for a living, I woulda thunk twice!!! :D :D :D

Thank you for posting. If I havent seen a picture at Jim Buss's shop or met them at Derby I wouldnt know who most of them are. I wish more cuemakers would put themselves out there. I think its important to put a face with a name so not to think it is just a machine making the cues. Might SOUND like a dumb statement but the general public doesnt understand the difference between handmade cues by a PERSON and slopped out cues made in Indonesia with spray paint. This helps market the high end cue market more than they think. This is why its important for people to visit the big tournaments and for people in the industry to be identifying themselves with hats, tee shirts, setting up a booth. THANK YOU AGAIN CORNERSTONE. You guys truly do a great job promoting the best cuemakers. Maybe a photo album on your website for future reference? I truly think that would be a GREAT marketing tool. I have talked to Billy Webb on the phone and bought one of his cues but have no clue what he even looks like? lol. What do you think of my idea? :)

Many cue builders do what you say; especially when the event is close to their home. On the other hand, that time spent away from the shop means that they have less time to work on cues. It can be a double-edged sword.

after talking to a few cue makers during the show, they say they always loose money when they attend.. and thats the primary reason you will see a cue maker there one year and not the next...

They are visiting the booth.
BUT - when they visit, they own the booth.
They do bring a crowd along with them and hopefully some interest in the cues as well.
If you never been to the SBE, Saturday is when all the stars of cue making come out and the best were in town for this event.

Here is the list of exhibitors of who had a booth...
