RIP Billy Lanna aka Billy The Kid

Thank you Kickin for posting this. I saw Billy at Super Billiards Expo for the last couple decades. We'd always play a friendly set or two. He'd get you talking, playing buddy pool, then towards the end try to get in my wallet. Never minded losing to him and getting paid once in awhile. He...

    Vintage 70's Joss BIG PIN - 3/8/10

Exactly I refinished about 25 finds with Dan Dishaw....everytime it increased value and I felt I "saved" every one of them.

    Vintage 70's Joss BIG PIN - 3/8/10

Rubbing in a little Antique Oil will help it some.... But I'd vote to refinish with modern finish. You aren't ruining anything because these are basic players that if perfect original won't fetch over 1000. Refinished they are worth more than that, certainly enough to cover refinishing costs so...

    Vintage 70's Joss BIG PIN - 3/8/10

Definitely refinish them. They just tape off the wrap, remove the bumper, then weight bolt so the derlin butt cap slides off. Then clean them up and spray them. The veneers will pop again after a light sanding. The Cortland line wrap can be cleaned up quite a bit with soap and water....its...

    Corner pocket shelf

Pros with brand new, ultra slick cloth and their ability to use "helping english"and speed to make balls will make it look easy. Can have the bull nose at the shelf edge slate cut back some. We had a room owner do this on Diamonized Gold Crowns and it made a notable difference.

    Filler Vs. Gorst

This needs to happen. For anybody who was watching the Roy's Basement livestreams when Filler played the ghost in every conceivable game when the pandemic first hit ...pure offense...his ability is incredible. I'd bet Filler and if I lost, I'd bet him again.

Sold 30-pt Amboyna/Ebony Dan Dishaw (super nice)

Known Danny a long time. We refinished a bunch of customs I'd find that needed saving. His talent is unreal. His resale value isn't where it should be. CNC work isn't highly collectible....though he should be on par with Bill McDaniel who also used it. He some amazing materials and designs.

    Advice On This Shot

Bet Ever see a ball hit the edge of a ball and move quicker? I'm not a physics major, but I see that plenty of times. I'd bet it lost friction with the cloth and instant and slid.

    Advice On This Shot

It's ok to doubt....been shooting this for years. Ball is a foot or less out of the hole. Swerve is part of it. Mostly squirt.

    any downside to this??

You won't strip them....its only catching the one face of the thread

    any downside to this??

Sure it would work. Be a pita unless its a home cue kept together. Any decent cuemaker could put a new insert in the shaft for a little bit of cash

So now I have a Diamond

In a pool hall situation it could make a little sense...but even then not really. Home table....it will be abnormally fast and not play like other Diamonds. Keep the 860 clean and you will be fine.

I don't even play....but I'm keeping this in case somebody will bet something and I gotta get in stroke
