    US Open 9-ball updates thread..

Jayson Shaw made these tables look like light work...I don't remember seeing him miss a shot. Esteban guy was a damn good shooter too.

Looking for 30" Solid maple shaft

I have a 30" Schmelke traditional maple at 12.25mm that I ordered on my cue from them...love this thing, it rocks.

    Opinions on JOSS cues

I have about 30 or so production cues (6 Mezz, 2 Schon, 3 McDermott, 4 Meucci, 3 Viking, 2 Predator, Schmelke, Pechauer, 2 Lucasi, a few Players/PureX, etc)...and although Mezz is my favorite brand overall, my lonely Joss 44 with traditional maple shaft is one of my all-time favorites to use and...

    budget billiards shipping time

Love all 4 of my Meuccis...all are newer versions purchased in the last year or so. Two 29" Pro, 30" UW, 30" Pro. No issues, and they all play fantastic (2 from Budget Billiards, 1 from Billiard Warehouse, 1 from Seyberts)

Are diamonds on a pool table a bit of a crutch??

Is that really a valid analogy though, Hu? American football is measured in yards/inches/etc, so you NEED to have these hash marks for the basics of the game to really work. All other billiard tables do not seem use diamonds as far as I can tell...so figured it was a valid question (as many...

Are diamonds on a pool table a bit of a crutch??

I'd love to hear your methodology or processs, as I respect 3C players skills sooo much in this arena.

The Problem With Fundamentals & Mechanics

Dominant eye is the biggest misconception that I've read. My right eye has been dominant my whole life, according to the "tests"... but after lasik eye surgery in 2008, my eyes have never recovered correctly, and my left eye has been clearer and more "dominant" since then (both in reality and as...

Are diamonds on a pool table a bit of a crutch??

We all know that diamonds on a table help to make visualizing, aligning and aiming MUCH easier as reference points, especially on banks and kicks...but does a huge 11-12 foot Snooker table have them? I've never seen before, but not sure. Makes me think...are pool players too reliant on them...

    Lambros Cue

I've talked to Greg from Billiard Warehouse about getting a Lambros...don't think that will happen, too much demand. Even though they don't show prices on the 'main' ML cue page, there are a few that show the sale price if you click on them. The only cue I would sell a few others to get is a...

    *an* origin of "mezz"

This is the consistency of Mezz...they all play nearly identical (all have WX900s of different lengths). Like you, I prefer the AXI styling with white colored joint and black/white linen. I have 3 Wavy/flat and 3 United/piloted joints (the sixth cue is blue Power Break II)...all truly exquisite...

Why is 9 ball so popular?

I agree, this is all I play at home by myself. But the 10-ball HAS to be made last...if combo'd early, has to be spotted. If my ass can do it, the pros certainly should...but it seems they don't have to in many vids I've watched.

    *an* origin of "mezz"

Get the Axi-151, and try with WX900 if you like 12mm tip...I have 3 Axi (151, 155, 156) and EC7-R1, EC7-K. All are so damn good! I also have a Schon LTD with Jacoby Ultra Super that kicks ass.

CHALK TEST - Masters vs Exceed vs Predator vs Russian Magic vs Mezz Smart

This is the correct answer for almost any type of billiard product...biggest thing I've learned through my experience.

Why Seyberts Discontinued Carrying Any Mezz Products?

I noticed this a while back as inventory was selling down, both with Mezz and Joss products. Glad I got a 30" WX900 uni-loc for like $175 at the end.

Ferrule refacing before tip install, any tips or advice?

Re-tipping and sanding down a ferrule by hand with that device is WAY EASIER than most imagine. It's not rocket science...just try on a few cheap cues to start, and you will figure it out. I've done at least a dozen recently that all play absolutely perfect.

Cues With Rectangles/Windows In Butt Sleeve

I just checked my 30 or so collection of cues, and was very surprised to notice not one cue of mine has traditional, rectangle windows in the butt. My Mezz Axi-155 comes the closest though, with a slightly modified design.

    Schmelke Cue

Love my 60" even split, full-spliced Schmelke with 12.25mm pro taper on their traditional maple shaft w/ the half inch juma ferrule and Elkmaster tip. The other night, I was on fire with this baby and it felt perfect. One of my more inexpensive cues, but one of my favorites.

    Carbon Fiber Prices

Have ZERO interest in carbon-fiber shafts...don't care how great any of them are -- if they made them look like maple/wood, then maybe I'd care to even check them out. Black shafts are the ugliest thing in pool (and this is coming from someone who got an all-black Earl Strickland Cuetec in the...

    Cuemaker problem pics

OP -- This is probably what your face looks like right now...I'd be pissed.. I know that I'd be pissed, if after receiving this 'quality' of product after such a long wait, getting jerked around a bit--and especially-at-the price point you had to pay.
