turn down shaft or buy new LD shaft?

Is this bias on actual reality...? I've owned a Z2 for decades that has the original ferrule and I've beaten on that cue with reckless abandon and experienced zero problems. I also currently play with a non-laminate LD shaft from Mezz that also has the shaft drilled out. No problems there...

    10-9 Biado Shooting

I do get a kick out of how slashes performed by the pros are defaulted as exceptional choices and execution. Anyone consider what happens if he clips that 8 ball...? Not the first time we've seen Biado swinging with excessive action and coming out smelling like a rose.

Why Pool Leagues Should Embrace “ALL BALL FOULS”

You're implying an honour system. Which then of course falls flat on its face once you consider we're talking about pool players. Let alone league level pool players. What's the point in ramping up the rules to all ball if the only way to have it enforceable is to have a impartial ref watch...

Why Pool Leagues Should Embrace “ALL BALL FOULS”

On a separate note... does anyone know if AZB either has or the website os contains the ability to ignore posts that contains user specific words. This thread would be 1/3rd the read if we could ignore all the useless comparisons and discussion with golf.

Why Pool Leagues Should Embrace “ALL BALL FOULS”

I think any competent player would embrace all ball fouls. All it would accomplish is further increasing the divide between the wheat vs the chaff. Typical league rules aren't about making the game easier. It's just another layer to the handicapping onion weak players enjoy. Of course this...

2025 AZ Billiards Straight Pool Challenge!

54... left 11 balls on the table after missing a somewhat steep back cut. My eyesight has been steadily going into the crapper, and although it's affecting my near vision, it's crept into my confidence with longer shots as well. Went through a spell where I couldn't string together 15balls...

Mark Wilson on sidespin to pocket balls

As with everything discussed on AZB, this argument is relative. People need to play more straight pool before the discuss the value of learning subtle techniques.

how are ya'll doing in league ?

Ha, this gets better... So after the debacle in my first session's playoffs as detailed above. I decided to pump the brakes on my involvement. I was extremely close to just quitting the league again, but the APA carrot of singles accolades did it's job and I decided to stick around for...

Every insignificant major title held in a obscure place you can't think of. Do I get the decoder ring now?

there are only two kinds of cues to own.

One= is your player, that might become 'two' if you delude yourself into thinking it somehow "lost function..?" Two= the cue you used to use but bought something else for whatever reason. It being replaced doesn't make it a collector item I have my player for outside of my house, and my old...

Are we all playing with the same leather (layered / solid) tip after 4-6 months?

Good point, and something I didn't consider out of the gate. During the rather short period (8mths) I played with a soft tip. I only really made effort to remove the mushrooming around the edge, and didn't bother chasing an arc for general shaping.

Are we all playing with the same leather (layered / solid) tip after 4-6 months?

Ok, before I address the above. The consistent fool that claimed tips have a shelf life, is ridiculously out of touch yet again. Now to the topic at hand, and without math in the mix. Yes, in theory we will eventually be playing with extremely similar hard tips. If we keep them on for...

Are Corey and Melling the 2 best at dissecting an 8 ball rack ever?

Quick, everyone grab your torches... Someone dared to coin the phrase "GOAT" and it wasn't about your personal fav...!....lol Look, if you don't consider Corey one of the most deadly on a "BARBOX". Then you need to watch more Corey BB. I didn't insinuate he was the GOAT 8b player, but....

Are Corey and Melling the 2 best at dissecting an 8 ball rack ever?

I'd be lying if I said I had passed a few highlight reel moments. However, there have been several times I've seen Corey either create or develop a pattern into some otherwise nutty 'bank / carom / combo / bank' shot to make an out. I'm no pro, but I've been around. No one other than Corey...

I'd definitely give GOAT consideration to Corey on a barbox.
