Just friendly advice. I was being far from critical.

Oh for sure... many ways to skin this cat. The only thing I'm confident in is my way is most probably not the best way...lol. Arm chair quarter backing w/ the power of hindsight makes everyone flawless. I would suggest you rethink your approach to the break though. Clearly a hole in your game.

Rack 1: -You needlessly flirt with hooking yourself with the 6 when playing shape on the 5 -You over hit the 5 and track right toward the corner. Not a huge issue because you would have needed to really over hit to sewer, but still -You fortunately clip the 7 perfectly to give you BIH shape...

    Another Farorate thread

I'll add... It looked like he had deliberate CB control once, (broke out the 7 ball). Twice within that "4 pack" he nearly screwed himself with haphazard control. I'm also not purposely trying to be disrespectful. However, the 4 pack appears to be happenstance within a bunch of sub 500 play...

how are ya'll doing in league ?

We're still in 1st in my Wednesday night CCS (ACS) league. 2nd place has been on a tear for the last few weeks scoring 17 out of a possible 18. They've inched within a few points of us. It will be interesting to see if they can keep it up with 5wks to go. We've kind of fallen into cruise...

What tip you do you play with?

Used the same med/hard moori on my old player for 10 some odd years. Probably turned into a 'super hard' once I was done with it. Bought new equipment and spiraled down the rabbit hole of designer tips trying to find a magic pill. After a handful of months and countless variations. I told my...

When do you play at your best?

When I'm mad... Not 'mad' as in frustrated or upset. ...but mad at my opponents because I know in their minds, they believe they have ability to beat me. I consider it an insult, and I focus on proving a point at their expense. I know it sounds silly, and it's honestly a hard head space to...

    Using More Centerball

Interesting... I'd say I use pure 'center ball' <5% of the time. There's rarely an instance that it's the most appropriate option.

    Alternating Break Poll

That's only 9 ball, if you weren't aware of the original version.

    Alternating Break Poll

My post was mostly tongue in cheek. However I've been playing a long time, and don't necessarily need anymore experience with being run over by a superior player...lol Alt vs winner, doesn't motivate or prevent me from playing in anything. Unless you add handicapping in which I'm usually on...

    Alternating Break Poll

I believe the intent was to have you choose either yes/no and do so by also identifying your own personally ability. Personally I think the cut off should have been +/-600 rather than 500, but it's not my poll. I'm thinking the cut off should be at a point where the player has closer to...

    Alternating Break Poll

Lets see... If winner breaks favours the stronger player, then I think alt break must increase the odds of success for the weaker player.. ...and I haven't even stayed an Express View recently....lol Generally speaking as a decent amateur player. I prefer winner break. However as a...

Why different shaft diameters for different games?

You're right, if you ignore the parameters of what I was describing then yes the same amount of movement will create the same amount of english regardless of tip diameter. As always, when someone with an argument on AZB is painted into a corner with logic. They'll avoid the situation with...

Why different shaft diameters for different games?

10 vs 13...: Assume a flat tip on both. Are you claiming that you need to shift both tips equally to produce the same amount of english..?

What the pros do differently ...

The only advantage for jacking up when attempting long range draw, is the removing the cloth frictional loses to the rotation of the CB by hopping the CB to the OB. This is more common on subpar equipment, and generally not necessary on fresh cloth in a climate controlled room. Of course...

What the pros do differently ...

Would you be able to explain how a loose or tight grip for that matter alters the mis-cue limit of tip placement on the CB and how it also alters the physics of velocity at point of contact...?

What the pros do differently ...

Ah thank you... Yes we agree on that part at least. However I believe "you may" should be swapped for "you should put emphasis on". When speaking about playing like a pro anyways. ...and if you can't count on it, then the plan early on is to pull a move.

What the pros do differently ...

I did, then again, but it still didn't read the same, so I read it again... Maha talks about being on the 5 to break out the 6/7 cluster, and then breaks down where they need to be on the preceding balls to get to that shape on the 5. I suggest that the 5 isn't used as a break ball, but all...

What the pros do differently ...

There's the thing... Pros aren't doing the above. They're assessing every ball prior to the 5 to see if they can break up the 6/7 and still be good on the 5 afterward. Strong players don't use the ball prior to open up a cluster. UNLESS, it's unlikely that they will end bad on the clustered...

What the pros do differently ...

While you're certainly not wrong that fresh cloth also alters the game. What you should consider is that these pros in all these more major events are playing on fresh cloth. Day to day play changes somewhat due to wear but not to the extent that the ultra-tight 4" pockets have had them adjust...
