Dufferin Canada cues - pool cue industry in Canada

I have a Dufferin Zodiac cue - don't know much else about it but it is straight and solid as a rock - I use it as a break cue. A guy at the local flea market was asking $20 for it, I got it for 15 - surprisingly in almost perfect condition!

    300-600 dollar cue advice

My regular player is a Pechauer PO2-M; from his Pro series (signed) but from the bottom - list price is $390; I got lucky bought it used and cheap so added a Pro+ LD shaft for an additional $280 - it's a nice hitting rig.

What has happened to Billiards Gloves?

the gloves are cheap and work well - no more messy chalk all over the place; mine were like 10 for $12 on Amazon - kind or thin like panty hose but if they wear out or rip I just toss em. Thumb and 2 fingers - so light you don't notice you are wearing them!

    Fast cloth question

According to the Simonis web site, the 860HR is slightly faster than the 860 (and more durable and longer lasting); the 760 is very fast and they suggest using it for 9 ball tourneys and 1 pocket.

    Chicago Pool Rooms

When I lived there 1985-90 Chris's was great; also played at Marie's Golden Cue, and the Chicago Billiard Cafe (where I bought my Southwest cue from John Wright). Does that small place still exist that was in the Color of Money (the scene with Forest Whittaker I think) that was up a set of...

    Your best playing production cue

Very impressed with my Predator sneaky pete w/3rd gen. shaft; cost less than $500, beautiful cue plays great; also happy with my Pechauer sneaky; got such a good deal on it used bought one of his LD shafts - but my favorite is my McDermot Voyager - beautiful, classic old McDermot bought used in...

    Cue weight?

All of my cues (different brands, ages etc) are around 18.6 - 18.75 in weight, but I still notice differences in feel and playability and have my preferences - the real difference comes down to weight distribution, and the wood types of the individual cues can affect this. Here's an analogy - if...

What table size for room size

    If you are using standard length cues (58"), required room sizes are as follows: 7' = 12'11X16'2, 8' = 13'4X17', 8.5' = 13'6X17'4, 9' = 13'10X18'.

The REAL Cost of CF Shafts

Another analogy - when the titanium golf clubs first came out (think Callaway Big Bertha) they were very expensive; eventually every manufacturer was making titanium clubs, and the prices gradually went down. The same thing will happen with CF shafts. Endnote - when finally, everyone who would...

Custom Cue, what makes it custom?

In 2020 I found a cue I liked in Jerry Olivier's retired cue section from 2013; asked him if he could make me one. He said sure, if he had or could get the materials ... well he could and did, so he made me one, arrived 4 months later; only "customization" was I requested a certain weight and a...

My japanese style home pool room

Beautiful! I like the idea for the lighting! I lived in Japan for 3 years in the 70's when Jazz was the rage, and there were jazz bars and jazz coffee shops everywhere, all of them with very expensive sound systems, dual turntables, and a wall of jazz lps; heaven for a jazz lover like me. A...
