    Want my cue painted.

I do hope he is kidding. Nothing bothers me more than a nice piece of wood painted, hiding a beautiful grain. I can even stand a cue being stained.

DZ cue with green veneers F/S

Kind of like the classic yearly "going out of business" sale.

At the End of the 14.1 World

I agree 100 points is too short, but as I recall... When I was a kid 14.1 was king and the typical tournament was only to 100. Am I mistake or was that the case?

To balance off the compliments. I hate those veneers.

Nice review Fred, but the real questions is .... "Does it hit a ton?"

Question for "feel" aimers, which comes first?

Let us not forget "The Tao of Sports". One of the quotes in the book from Yogi Berra, "You can't hit and think at the same time".

Question for "feel" aimers, which comes first?

Got me, I don't think about it. I just get down on the shot and let instinct do it's thing. If it doesn't look (feel) right once I'm down, I get up and try again.

    Pool Needs More Respect!!!!!!

I think the proper action would not be to add pool to the Olympics, but to remove one hell of a lot of dumb events. I never remember reading about the ancient Greeks twirling ribbons and dancing with hoola-hoops.

A Thread for the Non-Pool Gambles

Disagreed with that line from the first time I heard it in TCOM. Maybe it is my Yankee work ethic showing through. Maybe it is also why, despite my ancestors being in the "land of oppourtunity" for near 400 years, I'm still broke. lol.

A Thread for the Non-Pool Gambles

I don't gamble because I think it takes away from the game. Some people are gamblers and play pool because it is a way to gamble, other people just don't see any point in gambling. The only gambling I do is low-stakes poker (no hold 'em type games either) and that is just because that is the...

What's the best and safest way to clean a Linen wrap?

I wouldn't screw around with an old valuable cue. If you ruin the wrap and have to put a new one on, it'll devalue it. Send it to somebody with a good rep.

    boy's night out with joe c, tony z, 8-ball rat & koop

Fred, I've never played in, but people who have tell me the talent is pretty sporty. A couple of people who play on the Joss Tour I believe. See the post above, it starts at 7:00 with free table time starting at 6:00. Hookup with Jim and come along. Steve.

New Pool Jargon or I'm getting on a belltower.

Somewhat unrelated but about jargon. One place I worked when playing a project always used to talk about the "rocks" to look out for. I must have heard that term 6 times a day for 2 years, drove me crazy. That is the problem with jargon, it doesn't die when it should, especially when it implies...

New Pool Jargon or I'm getting on a belltower.

I agree with that Johnny, all the special jargon and the holy than thou attitude makes people shy away from starting pool. Everybody on this forum is always jumping on "Bangers" like they (forum members) just walked in a room one day, picked up a stick, and was shooting at "C+" speed. It is that...

official statement from the WPA: "Mike Sigel is not a World 9-ball Champion"

The WPA is proclaiming themselves the world body, but that means no more than the alphabet soup of boxing sanctioning organizations with their legions of world champions. Just because there are no rival associations for pool due to its lack of popularity doesn't make the the WPA any more...

    It helped, thanks.

If you felt 25 yrs younger, would you play better?

I'm 62 and the answer is no. If I was 25 years younger I'd be raising 4 kids again, holding down 2 jobs, only getting to play once a year, and would really, really suck. I played a max of 3 times a year until I got my youngest half way through college, my game is much, much better now than it...
