    BHE and FHE English

He’s right. Sort of. There’s a tautology here. It doesn’t deflect because of the pivot. But we pivot because it deflects. I guess he is saying that effectively it is staying on the line of aim because of the bhe/fhe. So we are arguing that yes of course it deflects that’s why we pivot. And...

    BHE and FHE English

I went to sleep and woke up ready to rebut Jasonlaus points but I think you all got this. Can someone tell me what this thread was originally about? I don’t even know anymore.

    BHE and FHE English

We “must be doing something different or wrong.” I don’t know how you can have such a unique position, and be oblivious to other people’s perception of when to use front or back hand. You imply that you are right and we are all wrong. I think “I was really surprised.” Could just as easily read...

    BHE and FHE English

If that is not what you meant then I don’t understand what you were confused about in the first place. What did you think they meant by front or back? I thought maybe you were European and used different terms for spins. Like how we say English for side spin and Brits say side or screw back for...

    BHE and FHE English

Not front or back like follow or draw. I mean side spin. And pivoting the cue at the bridge hand by moving the backhand. That’s what some people call back hand English aka BHE. Front hand English aka FHE is a what Americans mean when they line up to center and move the front hand to go left or...

    BHE and FHE English

I understand that is what they are for but let me explain. About 15 years ago I was practicing 12 to 15hrs a week drilling solo. And playing 20 plus. I never knew about bhe/fhe and I use a cue with a lot of deflection. What I’m getting at is that I learned to compensate for deflection through...

Watching a couple of late 90s/early 2000s pro videos. Question about bridges.

I don’t think my comment on here defines the bar for the sport? Or even where my personal bar for the sport is set? Seems like over generalization.

Watching a couple of late 90s/early 2000s pro videos. Question about bridges.

Does is sound weird or vulgar? It’s just something people say. I’ve heard it in videos and I play pool. I’ve used it with people and they seemed to know what I was talking about. It just means when the cue ball bounces back from the contact with the head ball the on the break shot. Then it...

Watching a couple of late 90s/early 2000s pro videos. Question about bridges.

I gave up on the super long bridge for breaks also. I just add about two inches to bridge, take longer pause on the back swing, focus on a long fluid follow through and bang good spread. Easier to squat the rock too because I’m hitting the cue ball where I want.

    How to practice?

I took a look at that link. I started practicing a version of the progressive drills for draw stroke. I think it’s just what the doctor ordered. Thank you sir. I think you may know a thing or two about this teaching pool thing. Just my 2 cents.

Watching a couple of late 90s/early 2000s pro videos. Question about bridges.

I’ll take a closer look at that. As I started playing pool again I’ve taken the time to focus on fundamentals all over again. I’m seeing some benefits from a shorter bridge myself. Now another thing I gotta pay attention to. I miss watching videos as a kid a just thinking Efren and Johnny were...

    Meucci classic shaft "action".

I know this is an old post, but it was such a pleasure to read. Thank you. You’ve made my day, and made me reconsider an old meucci. With this post you captured that feeling we have on a great day of pool.

CHAMPIONSHIP TOUR EDITION CHALK by Silver Cup

I’ve used the championship tour edition chalk by silver cup only once. It’s smoother and softer than regular silver cup. Kind of like triangle and silver cup had a baby. Goes on easier and coats easier. It’s not super clean like the new expensive chalks. Performance the same. Will run it head to...

What chalk are you using on your phenolic tips?

I got a plain jane players j/b cue with the stock phenolic tip. I just use my same silver cup or masters. I have V10 that I found lying around and haven’t tried it on the j/b yet. I have scuffed the tip a little and it takes more time to chalk it up before I break. It never looks the same as a...
