Ah that's so sad to hear. He was always present in the NJ pool room scene. Will be missed!

I think you'll see it still played out here in NJ/NYC area often enough among amateurs. But I wouldn't call it "popular." Not sure about its popularity in Europe.

What did American Sign Language ever do to you?

They'd bitch about the new rope too. Absolutely.

Pat's the first one that came to mind to me, too. He would settle down on the shot and then shoot. He didn't really take practice strokes. He also didn't miss very often.

I doubt it. Most young folks don't have cable. They have an app and a subscription lik eyou said. They aren't browsing TV out of boredom anymore. They know what they want to watch ahead of time, and tune in just for that event. Like for me, I only subscribe to HBO to watch the Giro...

it wasn’t the best, technically perfect pool, but damn entertaining. Was pulling for FSR -hell yeah. Lotta heart from both guys. You could tell they are both on full edge. Best final I’ve watched in a long time IMO.

I have no idea who's keeping that site going (is it Bill?), but none of the cues on that site are actually for sale.

You made the right choice going for the shot I think. In the immortal words of Jim Rempe, "never shoot an almost dead ball." I'd pass on a partially blocked pocket, too.

Yeah it seems mental to me. He was doing fine against Kaci in the beginning of the set and then just broke down when Kaci started winning a few racks. Kaci crucified him for the mistakes.

Hell yeah! Remember when he was 125lbs soaking wet with a full head of hair playing Corey on TAR? The man still has it!

Well this should be a good final. Alex played damn good against Jesus today and SVB had to murder pretty much all the heavy hitters to get here.

Well that was annoying. SVB on the hill, running out, and "hey let's end the stream." It's back on a refresh but talk about a pain in the ass

I’ve used proficient and they were excellent as usual.

Tyler started off pretty strong against Kaci and then just started firing balls into the rail.

It's not losing it in the back that's interesting; it's gaining it up front. it's usually the other way around.

Yes, 14.1 helps a lot. It does not have the more nuanced strategy of one pocket and does not involve the same degree of execution as 9 ball does IMO - e.g., shots that require you to move the cue ball around the full table effeciently every rack. But it forces you to "impose order on chaos"...

Three deserving inductees. Congrats to all. Especially happy for Billy. Really miss the classic line up of Accu Stats commentary - Billy, Grady, Buddy, Danny - watching those old matches is like being under a warm blanket on a cold day. Only Billy is still with us sadly - here’s to you man!

Alphadog was a great and longstanding member here. RIP.

152 for me in the chair. Dennis Spears in NJ. Anyone that knows him will know that wasn't a fluke. Dennis is an exceptionally strong player - very naturally talented.
