Thanks for this input. I should mention that the 6 prong was Burton's personal playing cue at the time I purchased it.

    Burton Spain Cue Values

This web site has always helped me find answers. I am researching the current selling value for Burton Spain cues, so I can establish fair values. I have two of them purchased directly from Burton in the early 1980's (Model #24 4 prong, and Model #34 6 prong). Both have letters of...

How much is this silly cue worth? Who's ever heard of Burton Spain anway?

Spain 6 point This was Burton's model 34. There had been one listed on line a few years ago for ~$7,500. I was fortunate enough to purchase Burton's playing cue (this model with the Delrin joint) from him in 1993. The best cue I ever played.

    Rambow Cue

Thanks for all the responses. I'm certainly not have any refinishing done on my cue. I am going to sell it, but will have to do some research on how to establish a fair price.

    Rambow Cue

I started playing pool & 3 cushion billiards when attending the University of Illinois in 1961. My first cue was a Brunswick "Willie Hoppe". In 1964 I met Herman Rambow in his shop on Walbash Ave. in Chicago, and he repaired one of the shafts on my Hoppe cue. In 1966 I had graduated, and finally...

    Herman Rambow Cue Restoration ?

Based upon the grading criteria in the 3rd edition "Blue Book", the condition is between 70 - 90 %. It still has the original finish and wrap. It is obviously only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I understand the "market" for these cues is soft, so I may wait a few months before...

    Herman Rambow Cue Restoration ?

Question Answered I wanted to thank everyone for their input on this Thread. The overwhelming majority advised against having the cue restored before sale. Having it authenticated seems to make the most sense, and the names of Paul Rubino and Deno Andrews have been suggested. Any other names...

    Herman Rambow Cue Restoration ?

David, No dings or scratches. The white ring near the butt has reduced in diameter and has some "shrinkage" cracks, but is still all there. The black rings on each side of the brass joint seem "larger" in diameter than the wood by a few thousand's. Thats it. As mentioned before, I played it...
