Best Pool Player you saw alive, regardless.

I had the fortune of playing in one of Sigel's rooms in Maryland during the 80's. Mike would come in to practice and I would be mesmerized. Met Nick Varner quite a few times and always enjoyed watching him play 14.1. A master.

    Nick Varner

I first met Nick in 1981 when I started to play. He did an exhibition at The U and played my friend Bert. Bert was easily the best player in our room and Nick made minced meat out of him. He was running balls and wanted to continue his run but the audience wanted to see trick shots. Lol...

    Abe Rich Titilst Conversion

I bought two cues from Abe in 1982. Played great great. An old girlfriend took one and the other one disappeared during a move in the 90's. I wish I had them although I graduated to flat faced joints in the early 90's. I met him a few times and it was always a pleasure hearing his stories.

What tip you do you play with?

Speaking of tips, are there any places that will put on a tip to a carbon fiber shaft in Towson, MD? Thanks

    At the expo

Went yesterday and it was more crowded than I remember. Had a nice chat with Nick Varner. Such a nice guy. Met him first in 1981. It was good seeing Earl play. Talking to people and enjoying himself. And Jayson Shaw looks like he lost some weight.

I loved Missoula. The Depot was a great restaurant. Stayed at a decent hotel and then went and played Stock Farm.

    Travelling with cues...

I saw Earl travels with a butterfly leather case that looks jammed with cues. Shocked nothing has broken yet as he does quite a bit of flying.

    John Barton us open ban

All I know is John made me two cases that both exceeded my expectations. If I need another case, I will call John.

Help with Eddie Taylor’s personal Mike Segil cue

I have two Sigel cues. One he designed for me and made and the other I bought in an auction. I love them both and will probably never sell either. Mike turned off a lot of people, but I like the guy. He always treated me nice. And I love the way his cues play.

No dispute that Efren is the GOAT, but who is the 9 ball GOAT?

I have a Kim Steel at my house and it is great. Pockets are tough and will spit balls out if not well struck.

No dispute that Efren is the GOAT, but who is the 9 ball GOAT?

What did Vickery do? Sigel, SVB, Earl, Varner, Efren are my top 9ballers.

Hardships of Professional Pool as a Career

The World Darts Championship recently concluded at the Alexandra Palace in London. The champion, Michael Smith, took home $500,000 for his win. The place was packed, beer flowed, and the crowd was boisterous. I have a hard time believing pool can't reach that level.
