I had a lesson with Lee awhile back and it was great, definitely helped me improve my game. I know I've been hoping I can find the time to do it again sometime one of these days

WTB - Mcdermott EJ4 (cat cue)

still looking, warped shaft/no shaft is fine too as long as the butt is straight, looking to spend no more than $200-250

Wondering if anyone has a Mcdermott EJ4 laying around (the cat cue). Even if it's dinged up, that's fine

    First pool table?

I picked up a cheap Brunswick home table for my first table off craigslist and while it wasn't as nice as a Diamond or a Gold Crown, the price was great and it played well enough. It held me over for a few years until I could get a nicer table.

    McDermott vs schmelke

never really used a schmelke, but I will say my wife has a star mcdermott and while it's ok, it's not nearly as nice as my american made one (or my old D series ones). For the money it's easy to find a D series, they hold their value, and they play great

Here's my table (GC I), using the spreadsheet it gave me a TDF of 1.02 9' 5" pocket 4" throat 2 1/8" shelf

    Next Cue Recommendations

I play with a Mcdermott I like, and even adding the costs of the extra OB and Predator shafts I picked up (ob was used, predator was new), it only came out to just a hair over $500

Looking for a good ball rack, what are you all using?

I like my Delta 13 rack. No inserts in it, but noise isn't usually much of an issue for me

    Best "production cue" builder

I've always been a fan on Mcdermott, I own a few of them and like how they all give me the same feel even though some of them were made 20+ years apart. Plus the lifetime warranty is nice too

All of this talk about building pool...

Pool always fascinated me as a kid, especially after watching good players play and then realize how they made something I couldn't do look easy. I wanted to learn to do it and was hooked, especially with the social aspect playing with friends. It's also nice seeing improvement over time, though...

Which is Your Ball Set of Choice?

I'll play with any of them, though I don't like the eye on the cyclops cue ball, so I'd swap it out with a measles ball
