Sold JACK JUSTIS CASE 2x4 - Like New - w/Extras

After ordering, drove down to So FL to pick up case and spent hours with Jack (RIP). Pure class, knowledgeable, humble, perfectionist who did more for the Cue Case market than he will ever be recognized for. That was 2014. 10-years later, the case is still like new - never used except to hold...

Moving to Jacksonville, FL - need a table mechanic to install my Diamond and new cloth. Also looking for decent places to play, APA and otherwise.

When my Diamond was installed and needed some tune-up, Greg from Diamond said that Wes was the ONLY Certified Diamond Mechanic in FL. Last I knew, Tony C was not Certified; doesn't mean he can't install yours, he's done countless installations. But why not get the best?

$30 for a piece of chalk...What's your favorite chalk to use?

I still prefer Pre-Flag Masters, baked in the oven. Old School

    Object ball slightly Right

In the reply above, you touched on many things. Feeling and seeing it (mechanics), concentration, body alignment (fundamentals), shortening your stroke (TERRIBLE!!), backswing pause (fundamentals), longer shots (mechanics/fundamentals). Pool is like golf - if your swing/stroke feels right (at...

USPS-DO YOU THINK MY PACKAGE IS GONE FOR GOOD?

USPS Priority Mail used to be faster (compared to ground or 3-day), cheaper and super reliable. Then 2020 arrived, and they're a cluster. The Mongolian variety. I ship daily. For 10 years, less than one damaged annually, using Priority Mail. Now it's 2-3 damaged per month, plus countless...

Has anyone raised their pool table because of back pain?

Raising the table sounds difficult. How about just lowering the floor? Seriously, don't attempt to raise each leg independently. Build a platform, like those used in home theaters to raise the back row. Hundreds of designs - even some ready-made - on the web, youtube, etc. -von

    DFW Billiards - Warning!

Please tell us that the 2nd repair did not use shims to get back to 4.5" pockets?? If you have 5" and want 4.5", the only correct way is to replace/extend the sub-rails. Oops, just realized the post above me is asking the same. FWIW, it's really not fair to blast a small biz like this. You...

    Please help identify this cue.

My first thought was Rauenzahn. Jerry made his own blanks and his points are second to none. Even the Gus-inspired rings look like Jerry's work. Sweet cue! -von

    Numbering Pockets

"Side and corner" confuses people??? Really?? Who, exactly, does that confuse? We're talking someone with an IQ of a doorknob. Pool tables have a LEFT, RIGHT, TOP & BOTTOM. So "bottom left" pocket is not open for interpretation. There's only one bottom left or top right, or left side...

    LED lights...... check this out!

Perhaps an option for those who can't afford a table light. See that SHADOW behind the cue bumper?? That's from uneven lighting - NOT what you want on a pool table. -von

Practice routine, am I wrong ?

No mention of score keeping, so I would.... set up the missed ball and cue ball again, and again, and again. and again some more a few more times not done yet just 10 more almost there. "An amateur practices until he makes it, a pro practices until he doesn't miss" -von

Shot Aptitude: A New Pool Game Metric (Sabermetric)

This is known as "weighing the pig". Gathering, managing and analyzing data that has no real value. Time to shoot has almost no bearing on someones skills, knowledge or abilities in pool. Personally, I despise slow players. But I also realize that, for most of them, it's more indicative of...

Playing the Ghost - A different Spin

Practice safeties - YES. Practice escaping - YES. Safeties with the ghost - NO. The entire theory behind playing the ghost is that you're playing against an (imaginary) opponent that will get out if you miss - period. It's a universal measurement of how strong one plays. So now the ghost...

I miscue on this shot a LOT, for years.

You're looking for an answer for this one shot, but the answer is global. It's your mechanics. The basics. Plain and simple. You need lessons. Someone who can help you unlearn what you think you know, and start over. I am NOT trying to insult you. Trying to help. This is bad fundamentals at...
